How do you feel about revenge?

I was not born a bad person, but because of all the hardship I had in my life I discovered how sweet revenge feels.
There comes a time when it's too much and you can't take it anymore.
And you dream year after year of undoing the injustice that has been done upon you.
And when the moment comes, it's delicious.
They can see your eyes being cold, but you feel your own heart burning like hot embers.

I'm guilty with feeling accomplished if someone who did you wrong experienced turmoil or a rift in his life. But it's not right that you are the one who personally worked your way to revenge. Karma. Let do Karma do it's job. Of course it wouldn't be easy to just forgive and forget. It will always depend on the situation and the extent of how did this person did you wrong. Sometimes, you just need to breathe and continue living on, and let life work its way to those who have hurt you.

I see revenge as a COOL escape fro reality, you karma is always around that is why I dont intentionally o it with my enemies. You know what there are 2 things in this world that you can realate to any aspects in you life...

sometimes it's good to revenge instead of just passing it off. Because there are always people who will always do you something they do to you and they do not know that they are offended by their feelings. It's not bad to revenge, but you know for yourself that they are wrong.

I will kill them all. This is the normal lines of those who wants to revenge. To revenge can make you satisfied in just a minute and after all things you have done, what's next? Nothing just as regrets by killing the person or people that wasn't involved in you anger. You're conscience will always drive you to surrender you killed innocent. I am not a killer but I try to do such things to revenge to my neighbours but after I see what will be the next I choose to forgive them. Forgiveness is the other good thing without the presence of revenge.

My perspective about revenge is no matter what form of revenge you inflict on someone, it will never bring you true happiness and contentment. Yeah sure it will make you feel that adrenaline pump of success but it is only temporary. What I've learned in the past where people have wronged me was I embed hatred in my heart for a long time. It's not a good idea I know, and it's suffocating in a manner that it holds my life bound to hatred. When I seek forgiveness to the Lord, not only did I forgive those who've sinned against me but also I also forgave myself. It's liberating.

At first i seriously want to revenge because the offender had really hurt me and i can't take it anymore, but the truth is that after revenge i feel terrible, my conscience will reproof me, i feel i have paid evil with evil, I don't feel good about revenge.

It is natural tendency for humans to take revenge on those who have committed bad things upon them. I am not a big supporter of revengeful acts, but at the same time if the individual does nothing then his rivals may interpret it as a sign of weakness. It will be better to find a middle-path.

I don't really like revenge. But I have to admit it, during my youth, I always think of it, if someone doesn't help me, I would not help them too in the future, and I think of it until I reach my degree.

But later on, I realize that it is just giving me a headache, instead of doing it, I just turn my life to the right direction, making myself better, feeling better, and living better than what I was before.

I even talk now with people that I really hate before, and what happened before is not a big deal to me now, I just hope that they don't ask my help when they are in the situation where I was before.

For me revenge will not give you happiness for it will just make chaos for you and to someone you have troubled with. I think its better for you to leave it up to the Lord and just pray for his guidance for whatever decisions you will make.

Revenge never seems to solve a problem but it just makes you feel better for a short while and the pain comes back. We get deceived almost instantly to take revenge but the journey of revenge rather brings more sorrow. Revenge always vindicates the fact that two wrongs don't make a right.

Revenge only satisfy your anger on what others do unto you but that's it, forgiving them for their wrongdoing and helping them when they need helps and no one is helping them are the best revenge at all since you will make friends toward your enemy and The Creator also bless you for what have you've done.

I've had some episodes of revenge, and though they occured by accident (e.g. I never planned to take revenge over anybody), they left a bad feeling in my soul. It's easier for me to forgive and make appropriate conclusions than to carry the burden of revenge in my heart.

Revenge to 'feel good' is stupid.  At least it is to me.  I personally do it mostly out of duty, and that sometimes can feel good.  Someone or some entity who has wronged you is likely to continue to do so to others.  If they can be slowed or stopped through 'revenge', is doing a favor for other future victims of your category and possibly yourself as well.

Revenge against an individual is usually not worth the hassle although there are exceptions.  I was wronged by a government official some years ago.  To this day I continue to work to sap the effectiveness of this useless bureaucratic agency as a whole, and do so in multiple ways.  Very often it is 'revenge' that tips me over the edge to get off my ass and write something or vote a certain way or financially contribute to a certain cause.

As with the gun thread here, it seems like 80-90% of the respondents are parroting a philosophy that I recognize from 40 years ago in public grade school (and to a degree, from what I know about certain religions, what I see in the media, etc, etc.)  I would suggest that to a reasonable degree some of this is indoctrination specifically by and for the 'ruling classes' and primarily for the efficient functioning of their own operations.  This indoctrination takes many forms but the mainstream media and public education systems are primary vehicles.
