Although ETH is the most powerful contender for BTC, BTC is still the world’s largest cryptocurrency, and people who use it are not only in the encryption market, but many ordinary people also hold it. They are just for interest. !
As of now there is no question that BTC is the most dominant, ETH could be next but we do not know when it will happen.
However, if we think that there is a possibility, we should always get ready for that by investing with ETH now so if it will surpass bitcoin, we are
already guaranteed with a profit.

I will agree with this topic, Ethereum has a potential altcoin that can replace bitcoin in future.

ETH is currently developing very actively, recently read an article about what they want to do much more transactions per second than BTC, so I think ahead we will see the struggle for a place on the market

However, in any case, mining continues to be profitable and crypto currency. Ether tied to the idea of a blockchain and smart contract looks much more promising than its main rival, Bitcoin. Even now, the market still has optimism and prophecies about Bitcoin's price over $ 10,000 apiece, although in the long term in the decade.

i think that bitcoin will be the leader for the nex few years, at least till the time, when it`s emission will be finished. before that, nobody and nothing can reach it

ETH, as it is peculiar, continues the movement for BTC and at the moment has formed a new local minimum. This gives us the opportunity to make an assumption about its being in the ascending movement.

Indeed ETH is next to BTC but to go beyond and compete with BTC I think it is very difficult, because BTC has a huge community and fans and its development is also very good.

It's a common belief today in the crypto investment world, that Bitcoin is losing dominance--and history of its market cap relative to all other cryptocurrencies shows (exactly that). Also, Ethereum, which was once viewed as the enabler of blockchain-based projects and companies, is slowly losing its supremacy.

Alternative coins kept on making noise in the market like bitcoin does. Since  Ethereum is one of the most popular alternative coins and included in the top ten and ranked as first place I do believed that it will be next to Bitcoin.

I do not think it's possible. btc is known because btc is the first coin that can be traded while eth take the example of technology from btc. for the yearly btc stock to experience a reduction due to mining and prices will be more expensive in the future.

In the next year or two, the Ethereum has no chance of overtaking Bitcoin by capitalization. In the future, this may happen, but everything will depend on many factors, including whether ETH will solve the problems with scalability.

I just created this thread to gather opinions ..
Ethereum is next to BTC?

It basically depends on what basis are you quantifying. If you are talking about the market capital or coinmarketcap position, yes ETH is next to BTC.
If you are talking about tech, I actually keep ETH ahead of BTC and not next to it.
If you are talking about TPS, then again ETH and BTC are way behind many other projects.

After bitcoin, ethereum is the most successful currency in the world, has gained the highest fame in the last two years, so the inventor considers ETH as the next BTC.

it's not just that everyone says that Ethereum will become the new king of crypto-currencies. I think there's a huge amount of truth to that.

Yes the ETH is next to BTC, literally next to BTC (2nd to BTC). The ETH won't surpass the BTC because BTC is more greater than ETH, the BTC is more popular and valuable than ETH and the BTC has more advantages and benefits than ETH.

In my opinion, the price of Ethereum will not exceed the price of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a very strong coin and the value is very high.
Bitcoin is the oldest coin in Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin will be the lead coin of Cryptocurrency.
Ethereum is a good and stable value coin but Ethereum's technology is lower than Bitcoin.

Maybe it is true because we all know if we look at the CMC the ETH was in the second to BTC. So there will be a chance this ETH can be next to BTC. But i'm so surprise also that was a time ETH was in become in the 3rd place because of the ripple passing ETH in the CMC.

A lot of people still believe Eth is capable of overtaking btc's marketshare in the future.  Eth does handle the most transactions per 24 hours currently and is the most used crypto as it stands.
