Hopefully once the network is fully deployed and transaction speeds go up then bitcoin will gain wider general use adoption. Butt we still need to fix the price fluctuations before it can be seriously used to buy a coffee. Also We need to end the culture of HODLING bitcoin is a currency after all not an investment.

Lightning Network will for sure change the things in the market. The transaction fees are presenting the main problem to the investors which cannot make small transactions without losing significant amount of the money. To some that amount is small to other it is high. Everything is dependable on the country of the residence the holder of the Bitcoin is living in. Different countries have different standards. This new fee that will be implemented will for sure make the transactions equal for all. I am also thoroughly watching the progress of the ligtning network because I would also one day wanted to buy a coffee with the Bitcoin without the extra expenses. Investors don't need to worry about the fluctuation because when the Lightning network will be issued growth will be even bigger and I believe it will outstrip the highest growth it had in 2017. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency and with this new lightning network system we are all hoping that people will also look at it as a currency and not just an asset for the profit gain. |

If no one will Hodl the price will surely dump, Hodlers play a huge part for the bitcoin price to rise, just imagine if everyone is selling and dumping would you think the price of bitcoin will go up? LN is long waited update but it might take few more months or even years to get activated just like segwit. Segwit was activated after lots of heated debates which resulted several forks last year. Same thing can happen when LN will be proposed by bitcoin core team. Yes LN can change whole game and bitcoin might even get back its usual 50%+ dominance on market.  |

Definitely a game changer for bitcoins! With low transaction fees and a lightining fast network transaction, bitcoins will now be viable for everyday use and most specially online and offline shopping! I do hope this pushes through to the end. Eventually, a lot more people will appreciate bitcoins more. |

Hi,
That's great. I would be curious to see it in actual use. Just because for the moment I cannot imagine to use bitcoin for my daily needs.
But that's great. And that's also great to see that technology still evolves, with the aim of allowing bitcoin to reach more and more users!
I really hope that the system is truly actionnable!

No, don't get me wrong. I a bit more worried than being negative. I am also one of the people that hopes the Problems in bitcoin will be solved. Anyway, worrying won't give us anything so I'd be more positive about this. |

All this is not so simple. The network of lightning bolts is afraid to implement, because they are still afraid that with a massive introduction, it can fail. It also has low security and is recommended for use only for small payments. Transactions of the network of lightnings are not reflected in the transaction log and therefore they have not yet decided how to act. There are other problem points. After all, the lightning network is the property of Bitrefill, and has nothing to do with bitcoin developers.
