$20K is the new mental barrier for all of us. We have been waiting that this price could have been surpassed already, specially that we almost touch it in December. But sadly, the market turns bearish and we move further away from reaching our goal.

Yes these kind of speculations are so common nowadays as people start speculating some random numbers once bitcoin starts pumping up and those are the same people who creates panic once there is a drop in the value but yes people still believe that bitcoin will pump.

I don't know if I agree with that quote you provided, however 20k price is a no-brainer. It'll likely go beyond that by end of year (or maybe even in a couple of months). Some are projecting anywhere from 30 to 40 to 50k by end of year. Time will tell, but yes, the probability that it will hit 20k again is huge.

By now, I would not say that breaking the twenty thousand-dollar mark will be easy to break. Bitcoin's market value is falling and is having a hardtime to cross 10 000 USD at this moment. Expert are studying the market for a long time, because the bitcoin price is trading in range of 10000$ to 12000$ for a long time. We will definitely not see rises in the hundreds of millions of percent anymore, but I think that the short term target for this year being set at $20k is pretty reasonable. We can safely say that we can within an inch of that target last year and the markets just experienced a huge downturn, but this year I've got my money on bitcoin hitting $20k by May.

There is really no reason to have fiat currency anymore, when bitcoin really goes mainstream. And it hasn't, yet. So when it does you can really expect the prices to soar.

People are so worried about bitcoin crashing right now that many are actually missing the point here. Bitcoin is a revolution and a revolution just simply cannot be valued by price alone. If you look into the long term, you'll find that $10k will be a dirt cheap figure.

There is study that bitcoin may hit 50k USD at the end of year 2018 but the with the recent hacking of NEM that made the hacker $500 million richer, i don't know if it affects the price of bitcoin.

I hope you understand how contradictory these two statements are.  Something that changes by so much over such short time scale, cannot ever be a useful currency.  Imagine what that Laszlo must be thinking now !  If he bought a pizza in exchange for a luxury yacht 8 years later ! What a fool !

I don't believe in chain lightning. It does not solve the scaling problem. It seems to me that segwit2x had more chances to make bitcoin easy to use. But we see a stop to this project. By now, I would not say that breaking the twenty thousand-dollar mark will be easy to break. Bitcoin's market value is falling and is having a hardtime to cross 10 000 USD at this moment. Precisely, as of now there's a lot of speculation spreading, whether negative or postive about the bitcoin's value. For me, bitcoin will touch $20,000 again and even more because, look we are just only at the beginning of this year and perhaps, just like before there will be a big changes at the middle or before the end of this year. I do not think that the fiat currencies will come out of use. This is a very optimistic opinion. If even once this happens it is certainly not soon. History may repeat itself, but the price may not grow quite as fast.

Dropping down of bitcoin prices was so fast, it is almost half of the previous value. Yet I still believe that bitcoin touches again their previous value if the China together with the South Korea delete the restrictions of crypto currencies in their country. I personally think this is a very optimistic opinion(or maybe even TOO optimistic), as I personally really don't see fiat to be dead in a very short timespan such as 5 years. Bitcoin's rise to global adoption won't definitely be a smooth one. There's going to have many bumps/hiccups as remember that we're dealing with a currency here; there's definitely going to be interference from banks and governments.

In theory anything could happen but for that to occur the economies of the world will need to go bankrupt and while that is a possibility I'm of the opinion the current scam can go for many decades before people begin to react to the fact they have being deceived their entire lives and that everything they have worked so hard, their investments and their savings will disappear when the music stops.
