There is no possible way for Durr_1412 to read whole topic, read long8899's post and send him merit in only 43 seconds unless...

If you look at post history of both accounts you will see that both users have identical writing style, both of them sent merit to each other and both are in the same signature campaign.

But don't listen to my weird logic and jumping to conclusions.

It's only abuse if they are selling merit or sending themselves merit via alts. I doubt the first case is true, and unless you're suggesting they're the same person, there is no reason to list them. In other cases, it is unclear whether the users are altnerate accounts of one another, which is why they are listed in the OP.

It does seem very quickly that people have started to abuse the system already.

I Have finely got some explanation what merit is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0 , but I am totally agree with you about abusing, people are really started actually. I think creators of this merit forgot about multiply accounts problem and simply one user can send +merit to one of his account and simply pump it. It is kinda "like" and I see no problem in it, I am not going to cry if my posts will not be liked ever. The problem will be when moderators will make "demerit" or "dislike", then haters will organize a whole war here on the forum...

Apparently not, the higher ups will judge you as they like. If they think you are spending your merits on the wrong person you'll be receiving a negative trust. So you can't really spend it for however you like. Good luck to that.

that's the beauty of this system, there isn't a lot of angles for someone with 2 accounts. now farmers with 20 accounts have a chance at 1 level up, but these connections will be made and called out

I'm not very sure if they have discussed it before, but I have a doubt, because they have agreed to the same point while giving Merits to each other for it. Well, though it can be mutual thinking, but, I have also checked the other Extra Merit Points they got, and I thought they are not genuinely earned Points, atleast not all of them.
