It does seem very quickly that people have started to abuse the system already.

I Have finely got some explanation what merit is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0 , but I am totally agree with you about abusing, people are really started actually. I think creators of this merit forgot about multiply accounts problem and simply one user can send +merit to one of his account and simply pump it. It is kinda "like" and I see no problem in it, I am not going to cry if my posts will not be liked ever. The problem will be when moderators will make "demerit" or "dislike", then haters will organize a whole war here on the forum...

Hopefully the demerit thing doesn't come into force as I'll be knocked straight back down to newbie from a few members who don't like my posts/me. It is a fairly worrying prospect.

I'm not very sure if they have discussed it before, but I have a doubt, because they have agreed to the same point while giving Merits to each other for it. Well, though it can be mutual thinking, but, I have also checked the other Extra Merit Points they got, and I thought they are not genuinely earned Points, atleast not all of them. You should have a look.

This shitty merit system adds confusions, anger, insecurities, jealousy and made members stalking to other members.
This system only favored to higher ranks those English are their native language but totally unfair to somebody else.
English isn't my thing, but let's be honest, all of us had minimum of 2 accounts and even a dozen as I do.
I know nobody does give me sMerit because this isn't a quality post to achieve impressions but neither I'm going to give my sMerit away into Hero and Legendary members.

It's like what I just said. This shitty Merit creates stalking between members as theymos clearly stated that this would not be monitored in any force.
Why don't you guys mind your own damn business and let those poor members find their ways on earning sMerit and leave them alone for God d*** sake!

Its not about English, nor about ranks, but about the contribution a post adds to a discussion/thread. It won't be unfair for the ones who can find at least one valid reason to post something which is what the forum lacks now a days and that is why the system has been implemented. Have as many accounts as you like, but none of them would be of work if you can't compel the users to reward you with Merits for your posts.
By the way, posting twice in a row is against forum rules. You did it just now.

It is really amazing to see such people who earned 50 - 150 merits with a span of 3 days. Meanwhile we the honest and good guys still stuck at the initial merit given to us by Theymos.

But im not really disappointed even though it will take much longer to rank up ill just do what i usually do here post and learn new things, and i hope those shitposter and account farmer will disappear in this forum.

Look how many I got. Was it by being dishonest? No it was by being mega active, being positive and paying it forwards. Often the Legendaries and Heroes are the shitposters and account farmers. 

The only difference with other 'shitposters' and account farmers is that the first get merited for it by the dozens and the latter tagged red.

Merit is given by person who has evaluated post or posts that he or she considered quality.
or you may request for merit your self by following the process like replying a thread with ten of you quality posts in meta.
theymos never stated on the new rule that account or individual who give merit to a shit post will be given a warning or something or it is not allowed to just give your merit to someone.
(correct me if I'm wrong) so there is nothing wrong sending sMerit to your friend, to your lover, to your brother/ sister/ parents/ husband or wife/  nor your neighbors in exchange of giving you sMerit in return, because their's a need of having merit to rank up, right?? It is like sending gift to a friend  in some way.

So let's move on??

They are not allowed to be sold, it is extremely frowned upon to trade merit and as you can see everyone found trading merit is getting tagged.
