so I will offer to level up a brand new, Newbie account or Jr Member to Member... only 1 person will win this challenge, the requirement is that they must be a native English speaker and make 40 constructive and relevant posts..

so - newbies.. post in this thread, then make the necessary number of posts and re post in this thread. i will check back in a week and chose my winner, if I am not satisfied with the quality of the posts then no winner will be chosen and I will roll it over for another week until a winner is chosen..

so people, stop bitching and contribute..

hopefully this will encourage some of the newer members to stop moaning and start getting with the program

As people have been raining merits on me like money mayweather in a strip club.. this thread will stay alive for a while.. i will check in on the regular, but I can see this being a permanent thread if people keep on raining them down on me I will have to keep on paying it forward.. for all the naysayers this thread will be proof that the system works..

There is a problem with this giveaway. Do you think members who really make those constructive 40 posts will need these 10 points by then. They would have already got it by other members if they post deserving posts. You will get filtered crap as applicants.

another one not allowed in... don't you see that I am offering people the chance to jump a few levels? check my OP - other members have sent me sMerit for this.. so I guess I will have to level up more members.. but at this rate I don't see that any newbies can stop moaning and just fall in line.

ill end up giving the sMerits to other higher ranks.. that would be a mighty shame as I am genuinely trying to help out some of you newbies here. I have nothing to personally gain from this.. Hero or Legendary makes no odds to me and either way I will eventually level up as I post plenty and trade with plenty of people..

I don't get why the hate? This one's a good idea it gives more chance to newbies. Now they shouldn't have any more excuse not getting merits. I hope to see more thread like this especially from merit source members.

You don't like the rules of the contest posted by TMAN? Just pass along and continue doing what you would have done if you didn't stumble on this thread. You just lost a little bit of time while reading so no harm done and maybe some junior member will like the rules.

I have two suggestions regarding this thread based on my personal experience. Sorry if it is a bit presumptions.
1. Add into topic name what member levels are allowed to participate in contest
2. Regarding your rule about only native English speakers. I would suggest rephrasing it to something on the line that posts have to be written in good/readable English, NOT Engrish.. That way you avoid racist arguments and it seems more fair to me. Maybe this is again biased by my personal experience. I am not a native English speaker but I believe that my level of English if more than adequate for any English speaking forum.

General ramblings
I am concerned about misuse of the merit system. Mainly selling of merit points and deals between members to mutually merit each other posts (especially on local forums). But that is a bit off topic so I will take it in one of the many newly risen merit topics.

In theory Tman shouldn't need to provide any merit points. If the system is working, then 30 good posts should generate 10 merit points anyway. Now no system is perfect, so it may be that a good new poster needs a few points to top up his credits. If Tman put his points into a pool, and just used the points needed, he could expand this to help more than one poster.

that's the whole idea... if someone has tried hard and then re posts in this thread, I will give them 10..  if there are multiple people then newbies actions will be seen by other members who have sMerits. I will save 50 of my own so I can honor what I have offered here a few times and any more I get will go into the pot.

people are giving me merits for doing this so I need to pay it forward.
