Facebook has noticed blockchain Tencent, the Chinese internet giant behind QQ and WeChat, has partnered with Intel and detailed their plans for blockchain. They’re taking steps and now we can expect Facebook to push back. Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg published a Facebook post on January 4th outlining his personal goals for 2018. Top of the list was fixing issues of people misusing Facebook. He offered encryption and cryptocurrency as an antidote, saying “I’m interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how to best use them in our services.” I was a bit excited to see the above news. Many companies started to use blockchain technology. They realized good things, but they encountered many troubles, such as government authorities, some systems, or obstacles from bank regulators.

Facebook will probably have their own coin and having that in USA will be seen with good eyes I think it's just a matter of time until this happenes. If we will not hear anything in 2018 about this , 2019 will definatly be the year they move on!

Remember what Kodak’s stock did when they announced blockchain plans. Facebook implementing the blockchain would have worldwide ramifications.

The simple fact that Zuckerberg shows sympathy with the possibilities of blockchain technology in various areas of the digital world does not mean that he is necessarily thinking of implementing a cryptocurrency in his social network (which would not be entirely unlikely). We must take into account that Facebook has been characterized by absorbing the best of the progress achieved by others due to its openness to change, and an involvement of the giant Facebook in this area would mean a gigantic step in the mass adoption of this technology.

Facebook is a big global social media company. The deal between Facebook and Tencent is huge news. Technologists have positive and negative aspects. Facebook wants to use the positive aspects of technology. Here is the development I expected.

I think that Facebook will go for an ICO. After such an idea was created by the telegram founders, Facebook will follow in their footsteps. It is a great chance to make money from nothing and heat people's interest again.

Just as expected blockchain technology would really be helpful on having this kind of innovation which would really get into their attention. If Zuckerberg recognizes it then big chances that they will adopt it. If crypto would able to be implemented then it would really be advantage. If facebook did recognize this thing then sooner or later big companies would really saw the same thing.

It is awesome for the crypro community to get crypto currencies noted by facebook. I think we will see the blockchain technology being used by facebook in one way or the other. Facebook may even have a crypto currency of its own. This will bring in more users to the cryptocurrency world and we can expect to see more fiat flowing into cryptocurrencies.

I know about the Telegram huge ICO but it`s the first time I hear about Yahoo having plans to involve in blockchain, I hope this isn`t just a rumour. Many of us are waiting for the institutional investors to finally bring huge funds into crypto, but in fact we`ll benefit more in if Facebook decides to step in - just because of the awareness it brings, mass adoption will be really fast.

I think, Facebook will not accept crypto as a payment method, Mark is a smart guy and he can create something with blockchain technology to impress the world again.

Transnational propaganda in favor of elites. As Mark Zuckerberg himself self-critically remarked, "it strengthens control over the Internet for its part, allowing corporations and governments to increasingly influence Facebook through society." Bees against honey !!!

I'm not really sure how Facebook could use cryptocurrency. It's a social media platform that people use for free. The only money that changes hands is payment for the adverts - I suppose they could enable bitcoin and other cryptos for that, but other than that, crypto and social media don't really go together. Crypto goes with the banking institutions and with ecommerce merchants.

IMHO, crypto and social media can go together, but the problem is if Facebook gets affiliates with some crypto companies, what is the impact ? how about facebook user opinion, and if facebook go with crypto it seems no more bounty for facebook those crypto company will give it to facebook to handle about those promotions

Facebook to blockchain is very possible. CEO of facebook has a good regarding this matter but Facebook will not be the first. Sphere Social now has a platform regarding social media but I think Facebook will boom if ever they have own coin

I think that only the major coin will be available in the facebook if mark will be accepting crypto as payment. Remember facebook has online game service(3rd party) and not only advertise.

They tried something called "credits" I think a not a long ago, and they terminated it as an unsuccessful project. So they probably learned some lessons out of it. WeChat and Kik are one step ahead of facebook I think. The giants are very cumbersome usually.
