Since you have been around a long time, any thoughts on the target rise price? If the alts where not so popular, I would target about 13 to 18, but since they are, I'm thinking more 13 to 15 before any new fast rises.

Thanks for asking, but I don't have the chart posted anywhere and I would have to upload it somewhere to show it here.

Basically, the price seems to have gone above the downward trend-line it has been following since 1/15/18. Breaking above that trend is a big shift. Also, my estimate is that on 1/21 the price fell below where the BTC price would have been had December not had such a crazy shot up. I now believe December was an outlier. So, if you remove December's crazy growth, we have now reached (1/21) and then gone under (1/22 to today) where BTC should have been had December not gone crazy.

My estimate of where it would be today, if not for December is 12,500. Since we are both under that line (below 12,500), and also now breaking the downward trend from the past several weeks in an upward manner, I think we have already hit the bottom.

If you don't throw out December, we are due for rise to 18K to 24K which is why you see that number a lot.

I'm doing things differently by suggesting December is an outlier. When you find an outlier in research, you should throw it out.

The December to now drop is 50% (almost). That's not normal for Bitcoin - clearly an outlier. If you remove December, we are right on track for where we should be today, just a little under which should mean growth is coming back soon.

Throw in that people are waiting to jump back in, and who knows where it rises to. But the clearest signs I see are we are at, or already hit the bottom, the floor.

I know I sound sure, but I'm new to charting, so I'm not sure. I'm good at research, but new to charting Bitcoin though I have followed the community for years.

Maybe we are in the dip because we are currently in January and we all know that people don't usually spend during January especially when they spent all their money during the Christmas season, I am sure that after January not only Bitcoins but the other Alt Coins are going to pick up since they were all in a free fall.

Bitcoin has value. It is the base currency paired with almost everything. It's like the USD, it's under most of the crypto world. Until that stops, it's going to stick around.

But I do agree that is has lost popularity towards the end of 2017. Mostly that is because of ICOs. You can't hold ICO tokens and Bitcoin if you are buying ICOs with that Bitcoin. But still, Bitcoin is the most common base coin out there. Until that changes, it sticks around as along as crypto sticks around, and I think crypto is the future.

Sure, that's all part of it too. I'm basing my analysis on the just the numbers, not the causes. The causes are really hard to track. But when you start to think about the causes, I do agree that Bitcoin grows, and so do many of the alts in 2018. The causes for the rise in 2017 are still there and are still gaining strength.

Well I believe thart Bitcoin was created by the central bankers as an experimental project before the release of the Fedcoin. And that is why the growth limits were included in the basic system. In view of this, it is unlikely that the bankers will go. In fact I believe that they are increasing their investment in Bitcoin to further restrict its use.

I agree with you. I think it rose too fast in December and now it corrected, but it corrected too far and will rise from here. It will probably go up and down as it rises, but overall, I think we hit the bottom.

You are giving them too much credit. Most times in life, people are not that well organized to pull of something of that size. It is far more likely Bitcoin was in fact started by one or two people, not through the secret organization of multiple countries' central banks. People are lot hard to organize than that.

Maybe you are asking when does the price go very high? Good question. My most conservative estimate is that by the end of February the price is around $14,000. But as we all know, that can change, a lot, and fast.

Thanks! Yes, I agree with you that the safe range is $10k TO $13k, although, I think we are likely holding above $11k, unless some really bad news comes out. You can't predict that. But unless there is some sudden bad news, I don't think a dip below $11k would last more than a few hours at most, if it happens at all.

I have a question about the $20K figure. I think you are considering December is part of the calculation, am I correct? So your charting includes December? I think you try some price predictions removing the December price rises and see when you think $20K is reasonable.

In my charts, I've tried to ignore December and I don't see Bitcoin going to $20K any time soon. But, you can't predict the good news that will arrive driving the price up.

Bitcoin is getting a good support at that price therefore we can see that it is the bottom of bitcoin. In fact the investors know about the importance of bitcoin and therefore they are not letting bitcoin go down anymore. Hi there Forward_Thinking! I am also looking forward for the continues price increase of bitcoin. What hinders the price I think is the tons and tons of new unnecessary coins. However, there are coins that are promising and giving a good benefit but there are still some that just bubble and fade away. Looking at the chart it seems that when the price breaks below again by 9k it will continue to drop, but if the price hit 17k, it will continue to sky rocket again.

I don't see 9K at all likely. I think 11K is the bottom, and now it goes up. What makes you think 9K is possible? What chart are you looking at?

There are a ton of alts that are not needed and there will be many many more. This is just the start. I remember when there were less than 30. When we got more than 100 it seemed like there were tons. Now, wow...just going to get more and more.

The stagnancy of the bitcoin price is due to versatile factors. This covers different amendments in the regulations of Korea, China against the use of crypto currencies. They had major impact since they drive most of the volume into the crypto currency. After the event everything sank down to bottom.

Later on crusher news like China new year, Financial year end came in hot making everything stagnant at some point.

However, it’s the time when everything will be cleared as people will start getting into bitcoin again rather than altcoins.

Altcoins has no future this year except the ETHER.

Basically, the price seems to have gone above the downward trend-line it has been following since 1/15/18. Breaking above that trend is a big shift. Also, my estimate is that on 1/21 the price fell below where the BTC price would have been had December not had such a crazy shot up. I now believe December was an outlier. So, if you remove December's crazy growth, we have now reached (1/21) and then gone under (1/22 to today) where BTC should have been had December not gone crazy.

My estimate of where it would be today, if not for December is 12,500. Since we are both under that line (below 12,500), and also now breaking the downward trend from the past several weeks in an upward manner, I think we have already hit the bottom.

If you don't throw out December, we are due for rise to 18K to 24K which is why you see that number a lot.

I'm doing things differently by suggesting December is an outlier. When you find an outlier in research, you should throw it out.

The December to now drop is 50% (almost). That's not normal for Bitcoin - clearly an outlier. If you remove December, we are right on track for where we should be today, just a little under which should mean growth is coming back soon.

Throw in that people are waiting to jump back in, and who knows where it rises to. But the clearest signs I see are we are at, or already hit the bottom, the floor.

Updated analysis...it looks to me like like 11600 (or around there) is the new floor. That is a very new pattern, so it's less stable than what I used above. But it also fits with my theory that we should be closer to 12500 today, and we are not there yet. For me...I want to see us breakthrough and hold above the 12500 line, which by the way, is at 12750 for February 1st (it is a rising slope).

Well that was a rough ride. I was not right about the trends. All my models were broken. Even this bounce, this is all an unusual pattern. I think the drop went too far, too fast, and that explains this current bounce.

Last year bitcoin price was 20k USD. At the beginning of this year prices have dropped a lot. We see, the price has started to rise again and has increased a lot. It will grow more soon.

Currently, Bitcoin price had performed a fast recovery from it's bear market where it had dipped as low as $6.7K USD in the past Q1 of 2018. For cryptocurrency enthusiast will have the same though, bitcoin prices go down and in the next few months or a fews years bitcoin prices will be high. Almost all users of cryptocurrency will have the same though, and even all experts who have a positive view of bitcoin will have the same speculation. Bitcoins is showing a good progress towards the months and already survived the "crypto currency winter season" and now it is time to rise and shine again and show the whole world what Bitcoin can do and what the real Bitcoin is. There are some people that are speculating that the price of Bitcoin will rise to $30,000 US dollars and break its last highest record but I don't think this gonna happen, For me on my own opinion and point of view I think that Bitcoin will reach $15,000 US dollars to $17,000 US dollars before the end of the year. But it is much better that my speculation is wrong and bitcoin will break the $20,000 US dollars highest record.

This is was we are seeing normally without analysis and also here we can see that the price of the bitcoin is very low According to what the maximum price of the bitcoin but in the last of the year 2017 , so now here a natural thing that we see that after every long term dump there will be sure pump that will be give a simple Indication that now it is time for bitcoin to get up soon .

Buy now and keep it for long term and that is the best strategy for the bitcoin holders or possible investors of bitcoin because if they are going to buy and hold bitcoin then they have the higher chance of making profit compare to those people who are just holding their bitcoin and waiting for at least for the price to reach up to 20% gain and then sell it.

Yeh i see that based in the calculation sometimes bitcoin is rising up and sometimes its going down so its difficult to understand if it is stable or not becquse theres no exact in bitcoin when analyzing it
