At that time you were Full member, so in common sense, you knew about buying & selling account is discouraged by the community. Still, you approached to buy a Hero member account.
Why you needed a Hero account? To abuse sig. campaign? To abuse bounty campaigns? To scam someone? Why, Why you needed that high ranked account?
It is not prohibited to create multiple accounts by Theymos nor it is against the forum rule. It is because someone may need an alt account for different needs.
Such as Darkstar, he has 2 accounts and he uses the other one when he is accessing the forum from an insecure place maybe. Though he has declared his alt account in "Known alts of everyone".

A: Possible (or real, not for me to decide) scams are not moderated to prevent moderator abuse. If we start picking out which ones we call "scammers" and ban, we would make a lot of decisions based on biased opinions.

A: No. We don't have enough time to check every single piece of information and verify the validity of the sources. Also, just like scams - too much room for bias and abuse.
Q: I saw a guy selling Bitcointalk accounts. Why is that allowed?
A: Since we can't effectively prevent these sales (proxies, TOR, sales in other forums), we don't because otherwise we would be giving the users a false sense of security.

Moderators don't want to abuse but a small group allows themself to abuse it massivly in the name of scam because they bought with their old lending businessess massivly accounts before.
They had no issues taking accounts as collateral and are now running bounty compaigns and destroying legit account and competition in the name of scam.
The only scam is the group which has been proved so many times to be wrong to abuse and they give a fuck.
Everything will be exposed soon.
Oh and the master defender of that forum are already massivly abusing the merit system but thats ok because its them.
