(facepalm) Komodo is already a zcash fork

"safecoin" is a clone (not deserves the word fork) of komodo run by people who don't understand the underlying tech and only trying some kind of poor rebranding.
(at least they know how to change a logo and how to mine)

this project seems more than suspicious to me (at the opposite of anything safe  Wink)

if you want the real tech, follow the original! https://komodoplatform.com/

cheers

As long as safecoin is a responsible fork, I dont have anything against it.

That being said, I think there needs to be a bit more clear disclosure about what exactly safecoin is adding (other than "komodo" -> "safecoin" text changes). Saying that safecoin devs are "working hard" on atomic DEX is quite a bold statement that I would imagine cannot be proven as I doubt they are.

If the "hard work" is to simply git pull from the komodo repos, that's ok as long as you admit this. However if you are misrepresenting that you are doing the work when it is simply copying our work... Well I will call you out on that.

safecoin is indeed the first komodo fork done externally that I am aware of, so as that it is a milestone. Just stay honest and dont cross the line into misrepresentation.

We are watching.

how is mining the coin according to the coin rules an attack?

some bold claims are being made by the SAFE dev about making improvements on dPoW. From what I have seen so far, it is a cut and paste with text change of "komodo" -> "safecoin"

You are not up to date on what is being developed, and you found it easy to come here and trash, when the correct way of doing it would have been to to talk directly to safecoin dev team, which you didin't

Also, when you throw over 100x more hash rate than current net hashrate then that is not fair mining.

i went a bit through your post history, on 8th march you announced an attack on komodo's nethash, that was an attack but what went on safecoin is fair mining to you

double standards much?Huh

EDIT: I now see what a shitty character you are

You went on discord claiming the "not an attack but following coin rules" speech you used here as well

You're a joke if you play it this way

8th of march is said was like an attempt at 51% attack as the longer chain was from the higher hashrate and I discussed in detail how dPoW prevented it.

the chain wasnt forked, no coins were lost, not sure how it is an attack.

YOUR WORDS, not mine, from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1605144.msg31839238#msg31839238

and you still didn't explain how throwing more than 100x times the current nethash is fair mining and not actively and willingly attacking a chain knowing what it does

Did Safe devs clone the Komodo ico bitcoin used to pay delayed proof of work notarisation fees, Or is there no dPoW system at all here?

Overall, clones are good if they are genuine attempts to stand on the shoulders of past innovators and continue the improvements,  so I hope Safe is not just a cynical money grab.

Safecoin is POW only and no ICO - so no money grabs going on here

Ok, so there is only PoW and no notarisation, got it. Are there assetchains though, how are they secured?

The Komodo ico raised btc to pay for years of daily bitcoin tx fees to notarise kmd, and therefore all KMD asset chains onto bitcoin blockchains, to give every asset in Komodo ecosystem bitcoin level security. I get the frustration with ico money grabs, but in Komodo case the ico raised wasn't used for personal profit, like 99% of other ico, it was unique in that the purpose was to secure the whole ecosystem with literally the most security possible.

Too early to tell, but doesn't look very good when Safe dev team don't understand details of Komodo notaries and their purpose for delayed PoW. It's like you guys are attempting to clone a Tesla car but don't understand the whole technology requires batteries to work, and when Elon pointed this out and offered to help you spat the dummy, at Elon!

You guys need to drop the 'we were attacked' alternative facts Trump routine and concentrate on explaining how Safe works without notaries, what adjustments have you made to compensate?
