Yesterday, the time was finally there. After being announced for a few weeks now, Baritus (the creator of DigitalCoin) introduced us to his newest creation : SecureCoin.

This coin is meant to be mined on CPU’s only, either with the regular cpuminer, or the QuarkCoin miner. No word on any GPU support, but i’m fairly certain we might never see it being mined on GPU’s.

The unique part about this coin is that it consists of several algorithms, which are : Grøstl, Skein, BLAKE, BLUE MIDNIGHT WISH, JH and SHA-3. Some of these names may sound familiar to you , because this coin lends some of the concepts from other coins. This list includes YaCoin (YAC), SIF, Digitalcoin(DGC) and, of course, Bitcoin(BTC).

... the same as Quarkcoin.
How is it unique, if it can be mined with the same miner as QuarkCoin?

As the dev says:

Bitcoin successful economic model, better adjustability, and no instamining massive block rewards. Other optimizations are included for better performance and usability.

So, basically, no one actually van VERIFY they have it, therefor, no word on GPU mining.

As soon as someone can SHOW me they actually have it RUNNING properly, that changes things;

But as of the writing of the article, there is no confirmed GPU mining for SecureCoin.

Agree. Another boring clone. As for fair start, litecoin is fair enough. For CPU mining, this coin will have shorter period of CPU mining than litecoin. For security, you can cheat 3 years old to say this is more secure.
only one thing worth to mention is that this coin is bigger scam: on two exchanges at the first day.
