I don't think Bitcoin will ever lose its dominance. It will always remain the proud son of cryptocurrency. But if something likes this happens, another currency will take its place. This is the simple rule of evolution.

For me I  do not see bitcoin looses its dominance, over the other altcoin in the market index, it is because , of the bitcoin high price value, who will replace it ,so that bitcoin will be no more dominant, bitcoin has already establish its name in the cryptoworld, that is why bitcoin as for now remain dominant .

It would be hard and a long process if it would happen that bitcoin will lose it's dominancy and found another kind of cryptocurrency will take over the position that a bitcoin has what it have right now. So far I still had a strong belief to bitcoin that it would be still the number one coin in the digital world today.

I don't think the dominance have big role in the future of the crypto currencies the dominance level just based on market cap values so we need to concentrate on the prices more than the dominance but now the bitcoin regains its dominance when comparing the OP's value but still the price fallen heavily.

we all know that bitcoin is a great currency to invest in . But let us not forget that there are other uprising tokens that also need an attenTION.
I suggest that you have to invest on LEDU token or Education token because there will be a bull market in the coming months. So dont miss this chance!

Bitcoin now controls nearly 30-40% of the cryptocurrency market, the second stage of dominance belongs to Ethereum which has half the market capitalization of bitcoin when bitcoin will loose its market dominance, Ethereum will rise and so will the price of all the altcoins supported by the Ethereum blockchain network.

The probability of that happening is extremely low, think of it in terms of a chess gambit where bitcoin is the king, the whole other chess pieces have one reason of existence to protect its king so bitcoin will not lose its dominance or even if it does , that will signal the end of the cryptocurrency market.

I think in the near future bitcoin will remain dominant, the nearest competitor eth is gaining momentum more and more, but the chances are very small, we must wait for the full entry of institutional players, there will probably be something interesting

let's not be too quick to judge guys. Bitcoin has been down off late no doubt about that but let's not forget that in as much as bitcoin is respected in the crypto community as the King it is still susceptible to volatility but i am sure in no time the bull run of bitcoin will be in full swing. That way you will experience the dominance of bitocoin in a different dimension

Every week BTC seems to lose it's market dominance. Currently it sits at 34.4 percent but what happens when it becomes 5 percent or less? Thoughts?

Bitcoin will loose its dominance over time for sure. Currently it is around 42% but during late 2017, the bitcoin dominance was over 50%. So it is loosing its dominance slowly over time. However, that is because of the new innovative coins are getting introduced in the market and the investments are getting divided. However, on the other hand, the market size is increasing. So the dominance is only decreasing in the percentage factor while the market cap is not decreasing unless the price goes down.

However, I don't see bitcoin dominance to go down to 5% level anytime soon. Even if it happens in next 10 years, the overall crypto market cap is expected to increase to such level where the current valuation will look smaller compared to it. Being a pioneer crypto currency, the significance of bitcoin will not go down.

Bitcoin most likely will not lose its dominance in the crypto currency market. This crypto currency will always remain in the first place regardless of the conditions in the crypto currency market.

Yes, it is happening from the last couple of months but I think no one has confirmed idea that how much more time it will take to lose its dominance because it looks there are a lot of signal providers fail to indicate the downtrend and how much and for how many time it will occur.

hi friends, in my opinion this will only happen a few months ahead until the 3rd month. after that i btc piat will start to show the power of price stability. because of every year, Btc will always go down at the beginning of the year. it is because of the number of btc holders who sell it.

I think, if we are looking at the yrend of how botcoin works in the past years. Indeed the price really falls on the first to the sixth month of each year. So i look forward for the price changes in the following months to the end of the year. Btc dominance is still around, don’t panic.

I think if bitcoin loses its dominance that would be the time that we will fell the total independence of all altcoin in the market. Today, bitcoin movement really have big impact to all coin in the market. Bitcoin influences all the crypto currency that's why we investors have always rely on bitcoin price when ever we decide to buy altcoin.

I think it's only a matter of time before the king loses its throne, but fortunately the market seems to be assuming it in an adequate and smooth way because this has happened gradually, so that in little more than a year the bitcoin went from having more than 90% dominance to about 30%, that is, today it is only one third of what it was before and this has not weakened the market, but the time will come when many altcoins will be positioned above bitcoin and I do not know if it will continue to be the main reference to continue pricing the other cryptos.
We all know that here in btc community the system has already done a huge impact in our life. With our experience here from the very start many had changed and we fell in love with btc itself. Once it loses its dominance I really think that most of us in here will surely leave and find another system which can bring usit moreto power than btc can do.

Bitcoin will loose its dominance over time for sure. Currently it is around 42% but during late 2017,

the only problem is that this number is not "dominance" it is market cap. something that you shouldn't even be using for cryptocurrencies. using it for them is like using "taste" for cryptocurrencies and call bitcoin "sweet" some altcoin salty ,... it is just as meaningless Cheesy
and it is like this because 42% that you quoted is bitcoin's market cap against total of  1700 altcoin market caps.!!!

There is a FOMO brewing...

Most of our population here in this system has already been dependent with btc. It has done so much for us and still continuing its impact. I'm pretty sure that if btc loses its dominance then many of us in here might also lose their interest. With that said and done other system will rise and take over of btc's place.

There is a huge possibility to happen that and if that happens many investors and traders who cope with bitcoin will face huge losses.Because today we often doesn't see bitcoin is used according to it's original intention where it was build in the first place to use as a globally accepted digital currency for most transaction to accommodate reliability, convenience and security but people only focuses on bitcoin only as a great investment asset ignoring it's true vision which makes it useless in the real world and that will be a significant reason to loose it's dominance
