Its no longer news that an ICO in Japan has lost over $400 million to hackers. They promised to pay back investors who invested in their ICO. Thsi is a huge loss. After I read that news, I began to wonder. How safe is Bitcoin and Other altcoins? What measures should we take to avoid being hacked ?
I think one has to be very careful the way we are having hacked on ico project and one need to really secure  its investment because most of the icos itself are hackers and when your put your investment in them that is the end.
More still need to be done in other to provide secure environment for blockchain technology. We will still need to built confident in people mind before cryptocurrencies can actually progress to were it surpose to be.

I agree that there are a lot of safety issues, and hackers are ready to exploit them, but lot of people are completely unaware of the risks and they don't take any security measure.
One thing to avoid those hackers is safe your coin in a hard wallet, or just simply don't open those site or link that send to you because some of them can use by those hackers to get you personal information.

I have never experienced a single hacking problem, I never lost any single coin in 5 years I use cryptocurrency, my wallet several times almost in collapse, luckily I use sms authentication, always be careful when opening the wallet, because it may be a phishing site which you open, and do not forget to add antivirus on your computer, because it is very possible the virus can make you lose your coin, add 2fa for your wallet, with that way I never get hacked,,

Well most issues of money being lost can be pointed out to the users themselves not making the necessary precautions. If you have a lot of btcs or coins that you're planning to hold for a while, i think it's worth it to purchase hard wallets. Even paper wallets would considerably raise your security. And never be careless about your security keys. That's the most important thing for me.

We are all now not safe from hackers, hackers are everywhere just waiting for us to make mistakes.
So always becareful in everything you do, you didnt know it might scam. Always keep your private information dont expose it, like your private key and always make a strong password. If you have a big money or cryto just keep it in a safe and strong wallet.
So, always be wise and always be aware in everything you do.because in every mistakes theres always a consequences.

In my own opinion, i think no one is safe to a hacker because he can hack everythings and will do everything if the hacker really wants to get access with someone's accounts. The best way to do is to prevent it. Keep some things related to you private especially your accounts to banks, bitcoin, and other accounts that involve money. In that way, hackers will not have any idea about your money nor your accounts.

Hacking of account is one of my greatest fear in keeping my coins in an online wallet I read an article  about the possibility of Trezor hardware wallet  being hacked.

Everybody do really fear on being hacked which we do really value our coins and avoiding at all cost on losing them all. It is really depending on personal awareness on recent issues and do have the knowledge when it comes to security. Anything on this online world can be hacked if it doesnt then hackers would find a way no matter what as long they do able to stole out money from people.

It is how safe you make it yourself.
If you take a couple of hours reading up on security , you will probably can take some measures and be safe enough.
The problem is stupid people not even understanding backups and using their private keys on unsecured websites.

In order to be safe and avoid getting hacked easily either you keep your bitcoin in an offline wallet where you have control over your own private keys, or if you are using an offline wallet you need to set the 2 verification option in it, so that when your account gets opened from a different IP it sends you a code that you need to enter to your phone.

Hackers are in every field and we could even see lots of news about hackers stealing information of credit card holders and getting access to their accounts I would say that bitcoin is far better than any other currencies or investment as its almost safe unless we reveal our wallet's private key publicly.

As far as safety about our crypto coins,we could save it securely in any best desktop wallet or any of hardware wallet but when the matter comes about having our coins invested in ICOs or saving our coins in any of exchanges, then we are helpless and we could do nothing in this regard.

Security doesn't stop at once. It should be consistent. Hackers can hack because they are consistent in mastering their ability until it become well polished. Security teams must be able to counter that. They must be always one step ahead of those hackers. Cryptocurrency teams also consists of programmers and ethical hackers of high caliber that can be fight with the bad hackers. I can say that they fight because they can solve the priblems produced by black hats. We can't avoid these threats because even we secure ourselves, they can always find loopholes. What we can do is to minimize the chance of encounter by minimizing our contacts as possible.

It was sad thing that others will just steal the things that we worked for. I have a friends who just receive his bounty token and the minute it was sent to his MEW, it was hacked. His coins were gone and he felt like he want to quit on the bitcoin world. I know him, he was always cautious yet his account was hacked because of the etherdelta incident. The sad thing is that he waited for the reward to be sent for almost 4 months and it was gone just like that. Hopefully, this will be sorted in the future and no one will become a victim again.

After all, Japan is a developed country. I'm sure bitcoin members there know the best way to secure their bitcoin account so as not to be hacked by hackers. From 2014 until now, many members have lost bitcoin in many countries, this is a warning once again for us that this risk we can not avoid. But as much as possible we should be able to protect our account so as not to be easily hacked as by making double authentication, save and do not let you forget or lose seed wallet and your key

Smiley  yes!! No matter where you are that hack is not lost any where there are so many intruders .especially when the money is about it .just where there is only a wallet that makes a private key similar to the wallet erc20 of myetherwallet and so on .it will be safe as well as vryptocurrency is really safe for people here at bitcoin sometimes also have a really no safety wallet even though hackers can get our tokens out of their wallet because its just a lack of care so its worth taking do not immediately believe and will take care of the kicks to make this way and double the caution for nothing to all into the hackers way.

Hacking the stock exchange and the ICO cannot be prevented. It will always be. Hackers are monitoring the entire network. It seems to me that over time the exchange will come up with a mechanism to delay the application for withdrawal of funds in order to be able to verify the authenticity of the request for withdrawal of the coins. The withdrawal of Fiat in my exchange occurs within 3 days. I think all this time, you can stop the payment if it were made by hackers. For me this delay will not be a tragedy.
But to prevent hackers from being able to, hackers are now speeding and operating very fast; they are also equipped with a very high digital knowledge, so the attack on a market is a thing. It's easy, nowadays hackers can be anywhere, but we cannot detect him, and the prevention is difficult.

You are right, crypto currency are totally safe but we have to keep it in a safe wallet for without being hacked. If you keep you funds in online wallets or in exchanges then no one is resposible if that money hacked.

Crypto currencies are really safe until it kept in a wallet with private key access.
