Its no longer news that an ICO in Japan has lost over $400 million to hackers. They promised to pay back investors who invested in their ICO. Thsi is a huge loss. After I read that news, I began to wonder. How safe is Bitcoin and Other altcoins? What measures should we take to avoid being hacked ?
Yes exactly there are hacker everywhere. Thats the reason why we need to secure our own money ,coins in online wallets make it sure that it cannot guess by someone. And avoid log in log out to different computers like in comouter shop. Be wise in everything you do.

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

I think that the security is different in every coin. Bitcoin for example is online now for nearly a decade and nobody managed to get the blockchain altered. That proves bitcoin is secure. For smaller coins, especially ICOs, I would not bet on it. However, the user can do a lot to kep his coins safe, when he is careful with his access data.

For me, it’s as much safe if you don’t give out your personal information to anyone online. Ever since I started making use of Bitcoin, I never had any issues with it and it has been safe. You should consider the type of wallet you’re using, the operators/company and their level of security, cause it’s very important. Some of these companies are less concerned on things that has to do with securities and similar issues. You even use a web wallet and still be safe, but it all depends on the company.

One safe wallet I know is Coinbase, cause of the features they offer which includes 2fa and others. They also carry out some hack tests most of the time to know how safe their wallet.

It's just a matter of how well you manage your account because no matter how well you protect your wallet hackers can always find their way, as part of mitigating and preventing risk, you can try backing up or try placing your cryptocoin in different wallet don't focus all your account in a single wallet because a wise investors knows how to spread or place his/her investments.

With bitcoin price rising to the moon, crypto-currencies have started to attract the attention of hackers too, there is a few ways to protect your bitcoin and altcoins from hackers, if you have huge amount of bitcoins or altcoins, it would be better to keep them in hardware wallet, try to make a habit of doing a malware scan on your personal devices weekly.

Recently, I have experienced one of wallets being hacked which is very tragic for me. The hacker stole my SGG coin and UTK coin(which have been just distributed). What happened made me realize more how hard and hopeless it would be to recover what has been lost. The hacker stole a big amount which I planned to be used for house restoration but since it is all gone now, all I have is regret. Some people says that blockchain is safe but I don't believe that since day 1 because if it really is then why do people get hacked.

That is true but I have been managing my wallets well. I make sure that I am posting my address and not the key but since hackers are really desperate and smart, I got hacked and I have no idea how it happened. I know the saying "don't put all eggs in one basket" but I wish that the security for the crypto wallets be increased. The population of crypto earners are growing and I wish that the facilities like wallets, exchanges and etc. will also update themselves.

It is depends on you id you want to keep safe your cryptocurrencies. One of the ways for you to keep secure all of your cryptocurrency is be careful on sites that you are entering. There are many phishing sites all over the internet. You should also use hardware wallet that you can store all of your cryptocurrency.

Everything in life is dangerous. You can lose your money in banks because the bank goes bankrupt. You can lose your money at home because thieves may break in ans steal everything. You may lose your money in the form of real estate if the market collapses, is an earthquacke strikes, if it gets taxed or nationalized. You can buy bars of gold from a respectable bank which then turn out being filled with tungsten (it has happened in Germany). And - yes, you can have Bitcoins and a hacker steals them if you don't pay enough attention.

Its up to us how we can protect our coins. I think we just need to stay away from the trap that this hackers sent to us or set. If we bite the bait that they set all our coins will be stollen.

Since crypto sits outside the banking system, it’s more vulnerable to theft. True among the small fry, for sure. But banks are often hacked, too.
Many traders  confirm they’ve taken steps to protect themselves from hackers and thugs—breaking up passwords and storing pieces in
safe deposits scattered across the country.

Anything which is related to that of internet is highly vulnerable and that there are likely chances that you can fall victim of any such unwanted scene in your life. Hackers are no doubt one of the biggest threat to all those who are there in this stuff but the thing is you need to take certain precautionary measures in order to have a chance of staying safe from such kind of people and to keep your coins safe.

Yes, if you are online its always been that you are prone and vulnerable to any online theft, we can't deny the fact that there is such people that are using their skills and talent to make someone down for easy money. Even how we take extra care regarding our asset security but still they can do moves to penetrate if they take opportunity to enter your system, as i am once a victim of losing my token from my ether wallet its sad thing but i have nothing to do just to move on.

I think we are safe here if we only secure our all accounts and especially our passwords. The private key is very important also because it is our wallet, we will get there our tokens.

There will be no safe over the digital world as long as hackers exist. These hackers are really computer experts and program especialist. They will do everything to hack especially the trend is bitcoin or altcoins. Also, hackers will be more attracted to these because the price is too high. We can also defeat hackers by securing our accounts by not visiting any suspicious sites. Likewise, make sure that you do not put all your coins in one account.

if you question blockchain, its sure to be safer than any other programs created. if you question cryptocurrencies, then it might not be safe to all the fact that there are scammers, this alone is a proof that crypto isn't safer. if you have seen how much these scammers got, its going to be astonishing amounts. not to mention hackers too.

in this case, investors do not experience theft in their wallets but in the market.
because the bitcoin wallet is supported by a decentralized blockchain system, and it is impossible to break into it, it is the job of the market to further improve their security, so that all investors can trade with security.

As safe as the precautions you take.. plenty of good advice out there (and here!) on how to be safe about it.

Done right, it's safer than putting it in the hands of some bankers of unknown levels of incompetence.

Hacking is a very big problem here in cryptosphere. Digital currency involves a very large amount of money that is why some individuals are lured into hacking to get some easy money.

In the online world, nothing is safe or no information is safe. It's just like on the real world. Even there are police, theft can still successfully steal our things in our houses. They can rob banks. Crypto is not 100% safe from hackers but we can still minimize that possibility.

Hackers are creating problems all over the world. Cryptocurrency would be safe, but you have to take extra measures.
