This decline might still be useful in our use of cryptocurrency. This decline means that it has room to grow and develop. If this decreased the price of Bitcoin, then we must hope that it will go higher again in the near future. Bitcoin is still dominant because of the milestones that it has reached and achievements that it has given the crypto industry. Maybe it can be stable this 2018 or it may reach another milestone that any other cryptocurrency cannot currently achieve.

Tron,Ripple and Stellar were pumped ,in case you did not know. If one gets pumped ,the other gets dumped. Do you know why ripple is struggling to recover ever since that pump. Here's the math. Ripple's total supply is 38 Billion. Bitcoin's supply currently is 16.8 Million.

38 Billion * ripple's all time high price,     =38,000,000,000*3.84= $145,920,000,000
16.8 million * bitcoin's all time high price,=16,000,000*20,089   = $321,424,000,000

From the above data*,ripple almost came to such a position where its market cap came to subject that of bitcoin, people dumped it in fear. My point is ,if any altcoin comes even a little bit close to ,here in this case its 1/2.20th of bitcoin's market cap, people tend to react than respond. Panic selling in other words.
Speaking of Tron, yeah its whitepaper itself is plagiarized.*
And Stellar was hacked,a couple of weeks ago.*

I think so, after all, bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, and while there are many new cryptocurrencies now, veteran investors will still be more bullish on bitcoin.

Bitcoin will continue to grow in value, although there is always a sharp price decline, but bitcoin is still dominant in 2018, because this type of digital currency is very popular for investors who have a lot of capital to invest in it.

In the past two weeks, Bitcoin prices have been steadily declining, while smaller virtual currencies such as Ripple, Stellar and Tron have risen sharply in price and capitalization.

Erik Voorhees, CEO of ShapeShift Digital Asset Management, said Bitcoin dominated the deal on the floor a year ago but now more than half are trading in other currencies.

Still, some analysts say Bitcoin will continue to benefit from investors' growing interest in alternative (Altcoin) alternatives. They point out that because it is the largest virtual currency, Bitcoin is often chosen by investors when entering the market.

For me it is very hard to replicate what bitcoin has done for the past many years that it has stayed on top and for someone or something to overtake it. It would really need a lot of factors that needs to work on their favor just for them to take into account everything to push bitcoin at the top of the standings. Of course they need to reach that value first and that is hard for some already

Bitcoin is way different in terms of value and development when compared to other cyptocurrencies. It's price may drop but it doesn't necessarily mean that it will stay that way, considering the fact that bitcoin is still dominant among the others.

It's still early to assume, too, the year has just started and still has a long way to go. Bitcoin price will still vary on the number of demand, and I can say that there are still many people who invests in it.

I am very happy that bitcoin is still the leading currency compared to all other cryptos. I know that I have a very good future that awaits me even I am still a newbie

Bitcoin dominance decreased because of high fees and slow transactions confirmation while othe cryptos offer better services.

Even though, Bitcoin remains the most dominant digital currency and that is not going to change in the near future.

Bitcoin has always dominated the cryptocurrency market, and many people are aware of other coins because of bitcoin, but ETH is also becoming well known and I think it is a good sign that cryptocurrency is booming. I think bitcoin still dominates the virtual currency in 2018.

by the looks of it, bitcoin is still the king of cryptos, because no other cryptocurrency can top the price of bitcoin, and the amount of investors in bitcoin is still far more larger than any other average cryptocurrency in the market, so bitcoin is still the most dominant cryptocurrency in 2018.

Bitcoin has a market dominance of 35%.... 35% despite there being literally hundreds of crypto-currencies. That is an absolutely huge advantage, if bitcoin crashes, all other cryptos go down. If Ethereum/Ripple/Litecoin etc crash, bitcoin increases in value, that is how you know that Bitcoin is king of cryptos, it is the market leader in all ways, the global crypto trends follow the trends of bitcoin, not the other way around.

Of course it is and it will stay so.
Nothing has changed at the begining of this year that would harm the number one position of bitcoin and it's not only the price that defines that position. No matter that price hasn't come back nera te 20000$ like many aexpected from the 2018 there is stll plenty of time for further price rise and the number of bitcoin supporters and users is growing each day.

I agree with you I think the bitcoin value will increase again in 2018 because that's as you said that the popularity level of botcoin is still high enough among investors all over the world. the decline in bitcoin prices that occurs when this flavor will not dampen the interest of investors to invest in bitcoin because I see from some previous experience where the value of bitcoin declined very drastically but it does not make investors stop to invest in bitcoin and it can be proven with rising bitcoin prices.

Bitcoin is considered to be the massive virtual currency, so it is unlikely that Bitcoin prices will go down or fall, as many big investors I know have said that many small currencies are rising but not rising. via Bitcoin, but why Bitcoin price fluctuations in recent times cannot be determined

I have never used any other altcoin besides Litecoin to pay for goods or services. I don't really see why you should use all sorts of different altcoins while they all have the same working. I chose Litecoin because it has been around for a longer time then others and therefore has more trust. The only alternative that I haven't used but I think can be used for a different purpose is Monero, because it offers more anonymity. People just use these coins as investment assets, not for the purpose they were made for.

Even though, Bitcoin remains the most dominant digital currency and that is not going to change in the near future.
If you're going to transfer some bitcoins to another wallet you will witness the drastic decrease in transaction fee, you can also check here bitcoinfees.info how fees decline so much this month and some people here will show you how 7k USD was able to confirm with hundreds of satoshi transaction fee, with the Segwit you can surely get some cheaper fees with faster transaction confirmations so that is not the problem here. given that bitcoin is still dominant by its price and market cap, ethereum is catching up by means of capitalization.

Yes Bitcoin price maybe declining these last few weeks but if you will compare it to other digital currencies, it is still on top of them all. It is still very active and market is still growing, so it is really safe to claim that indeed Bitcoin is still dominant among all other virtual or digital currencies as of this writing.
