There are many #ICO live at this moment. Recently an #ICO named Benebit ,which was scammed and stolen 2 Million!

So, if ICO scam then there is no option for us? What will do Bitcointalk?

Sorry for my bad English.
Thank you

There is no medicine after death bro! The only way one can be at least a higher percentage sure of not being scammed is before investing in such ICO. There is just no way you cannot miss a good team and anyone who decided to do a proper digging on the project and the team usually will never fall a victim.

It seems so many investors just see an ICO, bump straight into it, without bothering much about the feasibility of the project, if the team have a working product, or the possibility of the team delivering even if they end up not being scammers, let alone, being one.

What do you mean by "us"? If you are referring to investors: That's the risk you're running when investing in ICOs, in the end, YOU are the one that decides where to invest. If you are referring to bitcointalk community: Bitcointalk doesn't depend on ICOs

We can't do anything Smiley. Cryptocurrency isn't legalized in any country yet so when you use cryptocurrency to invest in any ICO project and scammed, the government will not care about it and of course the police won't help you solving this problem. I think you only can accept the loss and try to earn by investing in other legit projects Smiley. Beside you should create a topic about scam project to let other member know and stay away from it Smiley

Bitcointalk aren't police. They can't arrest those persons involved. But if investors know the team, they can surely sue them.

That's why you need a thorough research before investing your money in ICOs.
You shouldn't just jumped in because it looks good on paper.
Scammed ICOs usually offer too good to be true returns. You need to stay away from them.

It's better to prevent being scammed rather than running after these guys. Unless you have the money and time. You are better of learning more about the crypto space and reality as it is what you'll need to succeed here.

Doing a deep research on new ico project is the key. It is a pity that  Benebit failed. The losers should take hart and lick their wounds.

The only way you can do for now is to move on and choose carefully what ICO are you going to join. You need to have time to investigate and research before putting your hard earned money into  ICO. As much as possible invest what you can afford to lose and don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Nothing can be done, that's why we have to do our own research about the project we want to invest in and make our own judgement. Surely a lesson have been learned and you won't bump into ICOs anymore without prior investigations.

I know how you feel of wanting to be rich instantly with investing in ICOs, me too man I want that to and we all want that. The thing is we should make sure if the project is legit. If you cannot go on investing in another ICO project then it's advisable to stick to the ones that are already up and running, buy and hold.

Believe me that not all ICOs are scams. That is why the only option for us will be the search for genuine reliable ICOs that can bring us profits.

There is nothing that can be done, obviously that is the risk that most don't want to take. That is the reason why if there is a good coin they sometimes chooses to trade after being listed in an exchange instead of investing into an ICO, even though investing in an ICO gives you more profit it is the riskiest way of earning thus they chose to trade.

It's hard to know whether an ICO is a scam but with proper data gathering and lots of experience you can know what ICO is worth investing.

Honestly, there's very little you can do besides do a ton of research before investing in an ICO.

Also, spread the word if you know for sure that the ICO is a scam.

Nothing pisses off scammers more than being called scammers

There's nothing you can do. No cure for it. ICOs are risky and challenging, and you are 100% responsible for your own risks when joining an ICO. As for me, I am indeed prepared for all the risks and decisions that I'm taking.

Just like Benebit, investors are not careful who they deal with because of using fake profile pictures of the team that was stolen from a school's website. You need to take time double check the team if they are real or not through their social media accounts and videos. Worse of all, never join any ICO who are having an anonymous team.

Just my two satoshis.

It can be not only site that pointing to potential scam. I'd stay from projects with enourmous cap and projects with only marketing specialists in team.

there is nothing we can do, if you think you want to report the case of theft and fraud on the ICO, it may be possible, but it may all be very difficult. if you want to follow a good ICO with a real project, then you should join the daneel project, for information please visit the website www.daneel.io

Because of fear I have for being scammed from some ICO project I rather just take free token from airdrop then invest real money. Why? Because you never know which one will be scam. Till now I put only in one ICO around  $100 + I get bonus token because I invest in beginning of sale and already sold it for $200. I don't really know what to do if you get scammed , so better invest money that you can forget about it.

If you get scammed by an ICO there's simply nothing you can do about it because they are not legally bounded by any agreement between themselves and investors. So you should always properly research about the project and only invest in good projects with dedicated team members. An ICO with good team of professionals will not scam your money.

You cannot do anything about it unless they broke some laws.
