DotA seems to be mostly about fast mouse reactions, and knowing characters + skills by heart. Is this true? Any online RPG is like that, the difference between them is many stats you have to memorise and their graphics, pretty much all the ones I've seen are just glorified rock/paper/scissors games but they're not even that balanced because you have rock/paper/scissors/character1/character2/character3/etc. and that just devolves into a whole mess, anyone who claims that kind of game is balanced is talking shit, especially if it's a game developer. Here's a pic by the way I had found ages ago that perfectly explains how I see RPG games today:

I don't know if you know, but you can buy the humble bundle with Bitcoins!
Do it!
6 Games for 1 dollar or 0.007 BTC!
I got the latest one and it may just have a couple of decent titles in it. I'm too busy with college.

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

Thanks for the tip. I'm sure many Bitcoin users will benefit from buying the Humble Bundle. @ Lethn: sounds like pokemon

This winter I plan on busting back into PC Gameing. The last time I sat down myself and played was Fallout New Vegas. My old fat white 360 died and I never replaced it. Other then that I play wii games with my 7yo and 10yo sons. I busted out (or rather found). Some of my old consoles. It's suprised me, they actually would rather play the retro games then touch some of the new titles.
You wanted a list so here is what I plan to take a look into. Diablo 3, Counter Strike, S ome CoD titles, Starcraft 2 and I also plan on retroing it as well. I also want to check out the new duke nukem. Even I f it sucks

Hunt the Wumpus and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.
Never heard of those two. What sort of games are they?

Don't age me please. I played that game K-12. Inside and outside school. I even followed the pbs show. Basically you play a gumshoe who is ether given clues or questions about a part of the world, culture or mapping related subjects. You then use this to find Carmen. She had henchmen you could catch etc.

@Lethn: sounds like pokemon Roll Eyes Well pokemon uses the exact same system but this just illustrates it out for you, if you replace what's there with various game units then you have your 'balance' the developers don't think it through at all which is why their multiplayer always eventually dies off, what's intereesting though is while counter-strike isn't balanced they let you have a chance at killing people with the pistol so you at least give players who just start off a chance to kill the veterans. First thing everyone usually does is by a deagle or just some body armour and it turns out more cost effective than going straight for the big guns which I think is bloody brilliant the rest of them though make it out like going for a pistol is the equivalent of shooting at a tank if someone has even a slightly better piece of equipment with them.

Actually maybe posting game logos would be more fun, I will say though one game that really impressed me recently despite the huge amounts of bugs and glitches in it was Fallout New Vegas. Here's why: . Multiple endings . Mostly coherent and properly thought out plot ( they had some bits missing clearly because of time constraints ) . Actual fucking endings that weren't just badly placed cliffhangers for the next sequel . The choices you make in the game actually make sense and don't just force you down one path . Sex and Violence, though I think they clearly censored some of it to keep the stupid pressure groups happy, it always baffles me how people are completely happy to have exploding heads on their screens but you show one nipple and you're the devil incarnate

From tatics to new vegas. I loved them all. Even when I have completed every single side quest & multiple ending, I can still have fun. Actually I might just have a fallout night.

Have you played the "original"? Wasteland? Back on the Commodore 64? Now, Wasteland WAS a great game. I don't know if I could play it now though, because I'm so used to how Fallout is now. I know a few people liked Wasteland but I used to like it. Except the noises the game had....they were pretty annoying if I remember correctly. I think my favourite must be the newer ones though. So much to do. Plus they tend not to crash as much
