Since I had problems with my local NEO wallet (couldn't claim GAS), I used https://neotracker.io to open my wallet and claim GAS. I used my keystore file and password so it should be safe. However, when I opened my wallet again today, again safely, my NEO are gone, and I found this transaction: https://neotracker.io/tx/5202aaf6aba5a14bead10199b8bae6aa0ff46fa696ecb49ac16cae928ef53b50

The adress it was sent to is definitvely not mine! https://neotracker.io/address/AHk7t8cKGDM2sARMFUw7F5zjPdqNCbnnjj

I never shared my keys or password with anyone.

To keep things short: - Is my NEO stolen? - Can i revert this payment? - Is https://neotracker.io/ known for being fraudulent? -What did I do wrong?

Excuse me while i bash my head into a wall!

The more I check on this, the more it seems that https://neotracker.io is either hacked or they are stealing funds. The address my 15 NEO was sent to is less than a day old and has a big amount of NEO and tokens in it + new transactions are coming in every minute: https://neotracker.io/address/AHk7t8cKGDM2sARMFUw7F5zjPdqNCbnnjj

Even if it's not hacked, the devs op neotracker.io shoul be very aware that this is happening! Chances are very small i'm the only one!

Oh my god! You should never upload your private key anywhere even if the owner asked you to. You should be the only one who knows the key. It is a common scenario in this industry. I understand you, it also happened to me when I'm still new in crypto. It's really hard to build trust in some exchange. I'm sorry for your lost.

ALWAYS you are about to upload your private key somewhere, search for an HTTPS site with a valid certificate, check the URL for typos also. Everything is so crowded with scammers, also if you ever see you get redirected to a site you didn't ask for run a malware app, if they redirect your good requests via DNS to a hacked mirror you will most likely get hacked too.

I only used my ecrypted private key, which should be okay to use, right?

I now see, I used http://neotracker.online/ once instead of neotracker.io...

Sad

This really breaks my heart. I am a true believer in crypto and the blockchain technology, but this is an issue that is affecting crypto's future prospects. I worked hard for the money I invested in NEO, even chose to not eat so I could invest it in some NEO. To see my NEO and GAS in some lowlife's wallet truly breaks my heart.

I always played by the book, kept my ENCRYPTED keys on a seperate USB drive etc. I am tech savvy enough to make sure my laptop is virus free. I'm still not sure how this could have happened, unless the criminal was able to intercept my password at neotracker.io

My heart is truly broken by this. So let this be a warning for anyone who is giving crypto a chance: you can't be safe enough!

Back to being poor i guess...

PS: can't the wallet it was sent to be blacklisted? Seeing how much there's coming into the wallet, I'm not the only one who is affected it seems.

I'm literally smashing my head against the wall. This 15 NEO was all I had left to look out for. I know how melodramatic this sounds, but now I'm left with literally nothing.

Sorry that happened to you. This is also a warning to everyone to be careful when visiting the site when dealing. Carefully check the website address and bookmark commonly used sites.

During Apex crowdsale the website was hacked and contribution address was changed. The team promised to issue CPX tokens even to the users who sent NEO to that wrong address (which received 1056 NEO)

That's bad. Why did you even input a very sensitive and important key to a wallet? never input anything to something with risk on it. go with their official wallet.

I never shared my keys or password with anyone.

To keep things short: - Is my NEO stolen? - Can i revert this payment? - Is https://neotracker.io/ known for being fraudulent? -What did I do wrong?

Are you sure? that you have not shared your private keys and password(s) to someone else or a phising site?

and no you can't revert the transaction since we're are not handled by Banks that's why it's decentralized. the chances that you could still get your NEO is if the hacker would still send the funds to you. (which has like 0.1%-0.00% Chance)

After tracing back my steps, I found out i clicked on an add for neotracker.online once and I used my private key instead of my encrypted. its like the universe worked again me. Not excuses, but I fell devasted.

This must hurt. What you will want to do is install Ublock Origin and Disconnect add-ons in your browser. Its far less easy to accidentally click on phishing links in advertisements if your browser doesn't show any.

A bit late now but using Ublock origin would have removed any of the google ads in the search listings. Easily done though.

Never ever give out your private key. Would you give someone your banking codes? I'm sorry for your loss and hope better things come your way in the near future. Lesson learned.

So sorry to hear that, and I know how hopeless and angry you fill after the scam like that. But thanks for sharing since at least your story can help somebody to prevent the same act as happened to you.
Take care!

Thanks everyone. At least I hope this works as a warning for others to not make the same misstake!

I still want to see that NEO adress blocked and that clone website banned though. Any steps I can take?

look man, i have been using the neotracker.io  for quite some time now and i really have never encountered any problem using their services. which removes the speculation that it is stealing from people. that leaves the hacking issue which isn't really impossible to happen. so i think this really might be the reason if you really think that you did all the necessary precautions needed to make sure everything is secured and done right.
but also, due to some stress or laziness, some people really fail to check every letter of the url first whether it is spelled correctly or not. i sure hope you did not make this kind of mistake.

now regarding the reversibility of the transactions made, sad to say but i really do not think that something like this can possibly be done.
i think you should contact the support team. although i do not think that doing this will actually get you your coins back, but at least it is truly worth the try.

i really am sorry for you op, and i do hope that you'd still be able to get your funds back. good luck man.

edit : sorry, thought this wasn't solved yet.
don't worry op, i believe somehow you will get back what you've lost and possibly even earn more. do not feel too bad about it. at least you have
         learned something.

Sucks to hear about your mistake.

Be sure to update us if anything comes out of this though. Good luck!
