Ok so I just started this website, its just in test format now, going to work on it the rest of this week, but the point of it, was to help sell products and services for bitcoins.  So anyone that would want to be listed on the site as selling items or services for bitcoin can be listed on the site, going to have a MTGOX TICKER to show price of a bitcoin, a rummage area to sell odds and ends, a chat and a forum type set up on the website.  I think this will work out, try to gather all locations and web pages, and users that sell items for bitcoin in one location.  Any thoughts ideas, suggestions, help would be awesome as this is my first web page.  I did manage to get a rough copy up, I am using hostgator and sitebuilder, will have ecommerce so can pay, have a shopping cart etc.  And if you want your website or products listed, email me and we can work it out.

Sorry to be the one to say this but, we ARE supporting the cool websites.

10 points for effort though; You just need a lot more design practice.

Citation?

Here are the 3 most obvious items, I don't have time to list everything else:

Get rid of the counter
Get rid of the background highlighting on the text... it's horrible.
Get rid of the two header images or at least make them match each other in size and location.

You really gotta do something about font color Orange on white... Not even going to try to read what it says there hurts my eyes. Try different color theme.

Yeah I have been working with the colors, it was actually a pain in the butt to figure it out.  I changed the color, see if that looks better and readable.

What Header Images to get rid of???  Not the bitcoins right?  What else am I going to put up there?

Yeah let me see if I can remove the damn counter lol

Thanks for all the advice, definitely want more help, more advice and want to get this running.  I cant figure out how to get a true forum, or blog on there either.

Yes, the bitcoins. I don't even know how to explain how messed up they look so I'll show you a screenshot:

That's in Chrome, Opera, IE and FF (I don't have Safari installed at the moment but I'll take a wild guess and say that's how it looks in Safari too).

In that case, I can't help you any further.

Good luck with your site anyway, I hope it's a success for you.

+1 to advices up there.

Your site needs some clearing-up and a general redesign. Try taking some hints from sites with simpler, clearer designs.

Yeah I have changed it a 100 times lol.  I think it looks better now, but still working on the choices.  Yeah if you were talking the two bitcoin pics I saw that later, was kinda overlookiing how cut and paste they looked.  If I could write my own page it would be better, using templates is making it easier but limited.

Why do you have highlighting on all the text?

Look at this (from your code):

Code:
<span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Bitcoin Minefield</span></span></a><span style="color: rgb(128, 0, 0);"><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"> is a simple game of luck</span></span>

Get rid of everything that says "background-color" and just make the actual text an appropriate color in the first place.

The text-background-color highlighting looks terrible.

Almost as terrible as the two mis-matched bitcoin images (one seems to be a background image that floats right, the other seems to be an inline image that sticks to your title).

Ok I changed the headers and webesite a couple times since then, maybe this looks better.  Yeah I am not writing in code, I am using a template so I cant just change code, which made things simpler but I Dont have the control of it as well, will keep experimenting.  Appreciate all the feedback.  If you know of a way to get the blogs, and forums running and if I can edit the code using this, let me know.  THanks

Okay, remove the highlighted text, just looks outright ugly.
