The CryptoBuck Team would like to address the multiple questions that are coming in the Gmailbox.

Since our last post things have changed in a dramatic way.  The Network started mining P.O.S. blocks @ 13709
on Oct.7th.  This appeared to be mining just well alongside of the P.O.W. blocks.  We had multiple announcements
and giveaways during this time celebrating the smooth transition to POS.  Now we have inserted foot into mouth
and are seeing the beginning startup lows of birthing P.O.S. blocks on the network.  There are currently many coins
that have gone through this tough transition time, hence CryptoBuck is not immune to it.

Block 13709 did indeed mine just fine in comparison to POW block times.  Then we had a long stretch of POW blocks,
and back to a single POS.  This continued on for some time.  The Block sizes were anywhere from 200-800  in size.
P.O.S. worked great because the Transaction count at this point was so low on them.  If you recall when CryptoBuck first launched
we did a 300 Block Rampup at a Reward of 1 on each Block.  It appears these smaller P.O.S. blocks were some of these Rampup
blocks maturing.

Block 15638 on October 12th was the start of Multiple P.O.S. blocks all mined in sequence.  This is when the Network came
to a screeching halt with participant Mining Power being shut down.  The Network at this point was sitting on tons of Transactions
that are now P.O.S. matured and in need of mining. With such a demand of Transaction flow (maturity in coinage) the blocks turned
these transaction Blocks  into 1000-7000 in size. This huge increase in Block size made it so the Blocks got mined with Hours in between each one.  At this exact
moment is when the miners started dropping off the network as one would expect them to do.

Then came Mega Block 15700 -
https://andarazoroflove.org/explorer/cryptobuck/block_crawler.php
This block was the block that everyone gave up on. Basically abandoning the network to no Hash Power.   We were already down on Hash
Power by 60-70% because of the P.O.S. birthing.  Now this block put the network down 95% total in Hashing Power from launch time Numbers.
Block 15700 is   (26735) in size.  I invite all of you to check out this block on the block crawler posted above and see the transaction log file.  It is Pages and
Pages of Transactions for the P.O.S. chain.

We are at an all time low for hashing power making the blocks turn over longer than normal.  At the same time we are still mining P.O.S. blocks with
some P.O.W. blocks mixed in.  This is why the network is running slower than what we are used to.  Once these P.O.S. blocks get past this "Birthing" stage
and back on the multiple P.O.W. sequentially it will ease up.

To protect the Network, and to help the network we are mining at full capacity to get through this. We have put ~14Mh on the official pool, and this has made
the P.O.S. blocks turnover even quicker.  If you see the difficulty reporting as 4.483 anywhere, this can be ignored. It's a generic
response on the P.O.S. query.

We were put into a strange scenario with the above explained events, this is truly why we did not want to post anything earlier until we had some  kind of
facts to put on the table.  We are still monitoring the chain on each and every block.  We are dedicated to this project and like we have said in the past we
will be here for a long time coming.

We encourage the miners to put their Hash power back on the Network as this is always the best way to attack the P.O.S. payout Blocks.

For all of the believers in BUK,  thank you.  We are in this 100% as should all coin developers.  We will post any and all updates as they unfold.

We are Trusted, We are Honest, and We are Valued...

The above statement is what keeps BUK Trading and Valued on the Exchanges.  The investment we have all put into this is still being honored by Many.
We tip our Hat to you and say Thanks!

I have been a staunch supporter from the beginning. I'm also showing my support by buying the buk while it's still cheap. It is my fault for not knowing who is in charge exactly. I assume being the first folks to advertise on the cryptonerds is what triggered me to mine this coin. I hope I have not made an error in judgement. The coin is a great coin and has true possibility of being worth far more then others. I like the coin and hope everything works out. I am helping us to reach the next block and have pointed my miner to the pool for now. I hope this don't take all week. I planned on mining this coin only for at least 3 months. Please don't make me regret it cryptobuks is a good coin.

The CryptoBuck Team would like to announce version 1.0.2 is complete.
This version has been tested working order, but keep in mind that we will need to "Drain the chain"
It may be a few blocks before the POW starts up again. We would suggest sending and receiving through
this new wallet as of now.   You will notice this clients appearance is the same as the old.  Future cosmetic
changed QT wallet is in the works.

the official pool http://pool.cryptobuck.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=blocks
is still stuck at block 15636 found on date 12/10 20:21:51

Do you think that solo mining could help in finding new blocks?

buk.scryptmining.com will be closing down shortly.  I dislike coins with 'official' pools, that get spammed with every coin update message while the rest get no mention. It seems an unnecessary conflict to want to spread hashrate as much as you can, yet point people to an 'official pool' at every chance.  Especially when the official one didn't even have the resources behind it to handle the launch traffic.

At any rate, haven't had much/any hashrate recently anyways.  Good luck with the coin, miners need to withdraw any coins they have left, notice will be posted on the site.

Profit-Switching Pool w/ Vardiff -> http://hashco.ws  Optionally keep the alts we mine or auto-trade for BTC. In addition can be paid out in any of: 365, AC, BC,  BTC, C2, CINNI, COMM, FAC, HBN, MINT, PMC, QRK, RDD, WC, XBC

Update: 10-24-2013

The team is currently monitoring the Blockchain and the Proof Of Stake Blocks it is mining.
We are confident that BUK will return to Proof Of Work Blocks soon.  Below you will see some
of the block times and can see that the chain is hashing and moving transactions on the P.O.S. side.
The unfortunate part of this is that the pools do not get  credit on P.O.S. blocks in general. Once the
P.O.W. returns, the pools will be functional as designed.  1.0.2 enhancements did help with the mining
turnover on the P.O.S. side, and we are waiting patiently to be able to review P.O.W performance.
Please stay tuned for updates, they are posted as they come in. If you haven't done so already please
stay current with the client.  version 1.0.2 links are below.  Thanks everybody.

Cryptobuks is alive and well. The pos looks great. Can anyone tell me how many pos blocks we have left? Is there and estimated date at our current hashrate of nothing? Is there anyway I can be earning buks now besides buying them at cryptsy? I keep my wallet open I even toss my miner on for a few hours at a time each day just to be sure all is good? I've noticed that today my pos blocks have been at 5 instead of ten usual 0.1  does this mean we are getting ready to find blocks worth 33 again soon? When? Is my question.  Ohhhh and btw I feel like the im only person on planet earth that sees the value in these things. Other then the original peeps who were mining it as I've noticed nothing has been sold yet. You are all holding too? I imagine this to be a good thing. We will see. Either I will be super bag holder or this will be smartest pick ever.

Ps.  Whomever is in charge. Mr cryptobuk or whomever u are. People are asking me if I created buks. It seems to be happening more and more often. Just to answer anyone else who wants to ask. The answer is nooooo. I'm simply an investor who sees great things in the future with buks.

Happy trading

Hi,

I downloaded the 1.0.2 wallet but it won't run.  Comes up with errors to do with hashGenesisBlock.  I read earlier that the 1.0.0 wallet client is needed to resolve this but the link doesn't work, so any ideas?  If someone has the 1.0.0 client, maybe they could help.

Wallet hasn't updated stuck on block 17529.

Only connects to one node ever.

"Official" pool and all pools seem down.

Coins stuck in wallet and no word on what is going on for weeks.

Would it be correct to say this coin/project is dead?

Any last words?

Edit:
Was contacted by developer and issue was resolved.  Working wallet again Smiley

I have my suspicions I think the Chinese pool op is behind it........ We are looking into DDoS protected VPS for pool.cryptobuck.com.

I pointed the name server back at the pool today and I was taken down within minutes.

Yeah, CryptoBuck (BUK), CosmoCoin (CMC), and the Chinese exchange that accepted BUK the day after its release btcltc.com are probably all the same group of people.  It's kind of obvious, IMHO.  I could be wrong and of course I have no proof, it's just a hunch.  And if I'm wrong I'll apologize, but it's very shady behavior.  But it goes to show, if you want to invest in a coin run by a newb avatar on a forum, then don't be surprised if you get screwed in the end and there's no one to be held accountable.
