As i see many users here saying there is no development in this project and that is abandoned, i will try and post updates from the team.
This is one of the most active projects in the crypto space and i would like to make people realize it's true potential and value.

The network they have built now consists of 900+ ZelNodes which are different from your typical masternode. There are minimum system requirements for different tiers of ZelNodes, from which the BAMF tier requires no less than:
-8 CPU CORES
-32GB RAM
-600GB SSD Storage

The total network of ZelNodes currently has available:
-3892 CPU Cores
-11.53TB RAM
-207TB SSD Storage Space

WHICH IS INSANE!

All these resources are managed by a decentralized operating system called ZelFlux, which allows developers to build and run apps using the networks HUGE COMPUTING POWER.

Why did the developers make that when using zelcore to install zelnode, you need to pay $4 per month?
A very strange decision.
The latest release is not compiled for Windows at all.
It feels like the project is abandoned.
And I see the developer is not active in this thread.
And yet, the site has fonts floating, it is impossible to read the information, I checked it on 3 browsers.

This is not at ALL the case.  

We do have the option to subscribe to Zelcore+ for extended features such as swapping and trading crypto within the wallet - however there is no subscription required to set up a Zelnode. While Zelcore supports several OS platforms, our network of nearly 1000 (and growing) Zelnodes run on Ubuntu.  

Trunk is actually quite active, and responds quickly to questions in our discord where most of our community chooses to communicate.  TBH, I've been involved with the project since early 2018, but never registered on bitcointalk until a few days ago.  I can assure you, the project is NOT abandoned.  In my opinion, Zel is one of the most active communities in crypto.

Both are solid and can be used directly inside zelcore to trade trough API but Stex requires know your costumer.
