The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

There are many complaints from users who invested their money in ICO and lost all the money. Until there is clear legislation in this area, there will be various prohibitions.

Facebook said it will block all ads on its platform that involve digitally encrypted currency, including bitcoin, in an effort to discourage advertisers from promoting ads that the company calls "financial products and services often associated with misleading and deceptive promotion" .

This are the right words from it.

It happened lately where they were creating projects which really dont exist.
This people gets millions of dollars by just creating a fake team, whitepaper and just a website. All that with just a little capital but they will get ten fold afterwards.

Many people might have reported about this that is why Facebook already made the move.

Is it true that facebook is banning all advertisements for cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin ? but why?

Is there a Bitcoin Inc advertising for bitcoin then ?  What are "advertisements for bitcoin" even meaning ?  Or do you mean scammy ICOs ?

I'm not that surprised. Facebook has been hit with many issues with its content lately. Most notably with "fake news" and the social media being used as propaganda. I think they're cutting off all possible liabilities and they might go back to their old style of post priorities right? The one where they would prioritize posts from friends and families rather than paid posts.

Wow what FUD  Grin Well, I guess if you have nothing real to say you just make things up. It's a very different thing to band ads of specific nature than Bitcoin in any sense of it. OP should really alter the title because now it's highly misleading.
Few days back, I heard that Facebook was going to introduce its own crypto currency and definitely it was rather Mark Zuckerberg was impressed by the performance of bitcoin. It is another try to defame bitcoin. Nothing new. People have been doing this since the birth of digital gold. All those who have a good understanding of bitcoin will never ditch it by such fake news.

I guess it's not true. I still see ads in facebook regarding bitcoin. even in messenger I see those. If they really banned it they will not let ads regarding bitcoin be posted there. And also, why would they ban bitcoin? bitcoin is paying for their ads to be posted there. so they are both making money out of it.

It is true! But not only the ads for Bitcoin or ICO, but also for other types of ads will be banned slowly, according to what Mark says.

I don't know for sure, until now I only see from the news posts in this forum. whatever it is, I am sure there is no great influence on crypto. because facebook only forbids ico advertisements that have potentially fraudulent misuse. I don't know the bitcoin is included in the ban. so far the only news for on ico sales ads.

I am sure that the facebook company is considerate. Bitcoin will not be ban so easily. I am so sure that they will ban advertisements that is not necessary or not usefull for the viewers or ads that promotes nonsense for example,  join the ICO and sell your house for investment. They will sure ban ads like that but not all ads that promotes the crypto currency. Anyway facebook are earning because of the advertisements that they promote. If they will ban all advertisement they where they will get there funds? Facebook will just review all the ads.

Yes it's true, they ban ads related to crypto, but I could not understand the exact reason, maybe there are some problems related to legal issues, as Facebook is used in all over the world. But it is just my suggestion.

yes. they will ban everything that is related to cryptocurrency and/or bitcoin because they believe that those ads promote scamming. yes, there are many scam ICOs but facebook here, generally considered scam even those ICOs with good vision. those ads, according to them, were misleading and deceptive that's why they ought to make a move to keep those ICOs from scamming people.

i take this is a bad news.
