Solution is simple:
Buy Prada, Gucci or whatever is hip now and make payment by BTC the only option.

I'm in.

Might want to consider a party on each continent?

Tokyo

Berlin/Munich

Los Angeles/San Francisco/NYC

Buenos Aires

Cairo

etc etc

timing is the key problem even with just one party. to coordinate parties all over the world will be very hard. most likely it would be more like a chain of parties then.

You know, instead of free entry for women, or attracting women with wealthy guys and sports cars, why don't we just spend the next few months (years?) focusing on getting more women actually interested in bitcoin? That would be quite a bit less sexist. Plus if you meet single bitcoiner women there, you'll already have something in common.

+1

If I were female, this thread would discourage me from attending.

There has been a episode on Let's talk Bitcoin about this topic. They argue (at least for tech conferences) to have a clear anti-discriminatory policy.

There has been a episode on Let's talk Bitcoin about this topic. They argue (at least for tech conferences) to have a clear anti-discriminatory policy.

It starts at home in front of ones computer then by leaving it and interacting with real people and empathizing, the problem is lack of social skill. I just listened to this and well it explained a lot.  (No it hits the nail on the head.) I now feel some what privilege to be relatively old and having matured in an ultra conservative environment.

The solution isn't legislated anti-discriminatory policy but learning to respect all human beings.

Well, that's a solution that is much preferrable but requires the participation of all.

Would be kinda funny, ironic, and maybe even uncomfortable, if in the next year or two the US went into another even bigger recession (maybe spurned by more debt fights and an actual default), and the price of BTC goes to $1,000 only because USD plummets by 25% to 50%. We would essentially be having a huge celebration because of a USD crash  Tongue

(not that I think USD will crash that much. All those tanks and aircraft carriers are still worth a lot)

it is more likely that other currencies crash against the dollar but still cause btc to go to $1000+ which essentially also means a dollar crash (technically this is already happening with USD to BTC)

Interesting point of view! I see right now that Bitcoin is searching his real value! And i think we will reach the real value in about 5-10 years. After mass adoption... So our Party will be just one of the first bigger milestones in the bitcoin history and i'm sure all of us are ready to party....

all bitcoin rises vs the dollar were accompanied by rises vs other currencies as well. one could assume bitcoin did not rise, but all the currencies fell. i think that does not make sense. whenever bitcoin price rose in the past i could get more euros for my btc. when btc doubles i need only to use half the amount of btc than before to pay the rent of my appartment. the rent didn´t change, so it is much more likely bitcoin is rising vs all currencies as to say all currencies & my rent fell vs btc.

1BTC? 1000$? For one day? [You didn't write anywhere how many days the event will take, so I assume it'll be one day]
In Poland I can live off that sum for three months. 1BTC is not a play-money for me.
Since I won't be a millionaire by 1000$, it's too big of a sum to loose in a single day. Count me out. My frugality says "not yet".

However if there will be another party at 10k$ priced at 0.2BTC, count me in!
Hi bcdev, my wife is from poland too, and i understand your arguments! In the first thread we did edid a few points like the following

our current plan is to play it this way: everything should get armed and ready to rumble within the next comiäng weeks and months. as soon bitcoin reaches 1000 $ and stays there for 5 days in a row (bitstamp $ 24 h average) this will be our trigger. since everything has been set up during the waiting period, after ignition triggers we will only need 6 -8 additonal weeks to actually unleash this monster.

So if you do not join the party, its your decission, but we would love to say "serdecznie witamy".
dzienkuje bardzo....
