The $1000 line has been crossed on Bitstamp moments ago! Let's get ready to party.

There is a huge wall @ 1000.

The wall seems to be past 1000... 2.8k BTC!

I'm sure it is psychological, everyone will wait until 1000 so that they can try to buy a bunch of things and it is just the time of year (in the western world). But as bitcoin is global that effect may be mitigated somewhat by non-western traders.

Say Johnie wants a samsung note 3 and has 0.7 Bitcoins or so. He waits until it reaches 1k, it makes sense because he doesn't want to be cheated.

Say there are 50 thousand Johnies that are doing the same.

I wonder how close my insane theory is to reality.

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own blockchain. With blackjack and hookers! In fact forget the blockchain.

It will also need to reset every time the number drops below 1000.

Or you could use this http://countdownimages.org/ and manually reset if the average moves over or under the 1000 mark. (Which hopefully won't be too often).

Edit: I didn't see the security thread about images.

The countdown can be at the official party website, it doesn't need to be in the OP too.

I have an idea, let's invite Max Keiser to the party!

He is kind of a Bitcoin star and also a funny guy.

Also, IIRC, he lives in London/Paris or so, in any case not too far from Germany.

Hopefully we can get some folks to do speechifying (like Max).    This makes it easier to justify the trip :-).

I hope there will be a video feed of the party. I could just afford to go but then I would not have much Bitcoins left. I'm happy for the ones for who this is not a problem.

I might come as well, but what's with the price, I mean $1000, is that not too much for a ticket? What will you offer me for that?
