According to my existence in crypto world ethereum coin is the only king of crypto.

As bitcoin is going through rough ride along with other altcoins but ethreum is turning out to be more stable platform for investment and also new ICO's are based on ethreum. Do you think Ethreum will dethrone bitcoin from 1st rank of crypto this year?

The data follows like this: BTC Market Cap to the date is : $170,272,510,065 ETH Market Cap to the date is : $110,835,237,454 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Total difference for trend line. : $ 59,43,72,72,611 /` The current volume of the BTC for 24 hours is on average $7,047,740,000 and while on the other hand for the ETH is $3,600,940,000. They got the difference of around 4,000,000 thousand on daily volume. This will gradually and it will because thats what the trend analysis depicts here. There will be more follower of the ETH than the BTC due to this fact and thus pushing the thing even further. There is very little gap remaining for the ETH to capture the BTC market and become number 1. |

Look, credit is due to Ethereum for weathering its problems of 2016 and then for finally breaking $1k and staying above it from the end of 2017 until now. It looks very commanding to stay at this price even if Bitcoin is struggling to maintain past $10k. But I really dislike it when people talk about dethroning Bitcoin or being king of crypto. There are a few coins that can be seen as royalty, but if anyone seriously looks at what's happening... development wise you had ETH 2.0 just switch things around, but Bitcoin moves on and on with Segwit and now Lightning Network. Bitcoin is going to blow everything away, just like it has been doing all this time.

Ethereum's value has remain stable amidst consistent downward pressure in crypto currencies. So, it does seem to have better value proposition for investors and with so many projects being launched on Ethereum, it will always be in demand. However, on the question of whether it will replace Bitcoin as number 1 crypto, I do not think it will rise to that level. Ethereum's strength is the ecosystem that it provides to projects based on blockchain and if Ethers value rises to the level of BTC, the funds would dry up and so would the projects. So, Ether will always be a second best Crypto though much more credible and usable than BTC.

Its too early to assume that. Yes, its been a month since the decreasing of coins' prices happened, but bitcoin has solid support from big investors. Bitcoin will not crush down that easily. It is also true that eth is making its move to the top, (its market cap now is $108b and still increasing). But i'm still hoping for things to go back to normal with the coins so that everyone will settle atlast.

It wpuld be a long way before ethereum can overtake bitcoin, but if we look at the rate where things are going, and if this continues to go on for the longer term. ethereum will definitely have the chance to overtake bitcoin.

That may be happening. ETH users and tokens are growing. The daily trading volume of ETH is highest in the market today. If ETH can develop the application and launch Dapps, the value of ETH will be even higher.

If there is only one coin that will replace bitcoin's position it would be ethereum,it is a solid platform which gave a lot of new alts opportunity to use the blockchain freely.It has good community like bitcoin has,the developers are working hard to resolve each issues in their network.I want to see how ethereum will lead the cryptocurrency market in the future because bitcoin might have collapse anytime from now with the declining of the total market cap bitcoin might be abandoned by the investors. |

Maybe it happen if all investor are turn on into ethereum. But, for me bitcoin is still on top even the value of it is unstable. Comparing the value of this two coin between ether and bitcoin. Bitcoin have a big diffidence of price gap into ether. Because of this gap ether is need a massive mainstreaming in the crypto's community. The good thing in ether almost all ICO's are now implementing ethereum blockchain. Through this, the possibility to increase the value of ether is huge this year and ether will be always behind on bitcoin. I agree. I think there is always that possibility; however, I would say that, for now, not yet. Even if Ethereum's growth has been exponential, and it really promises a lot of good changes in the following months. Bitcoin still holds the best value amongst all coins in the market, and even if it is in a stage now where its value is dropping at such an alarming rate, it still has the price point to actually get back on its feet and regain its strength, if it would again surge. Also, I think more people are still looking at bitcoin at a better light than Ethereum. |

I do not think it is possible this year. I am still optimistic that price of bitcoin is just temporary. I am not doubting ethereum but i think it may take a few more years before ethereum can be the number one coin.

but because of the bitcoin price that tends to go down,
the price of ethereum also drops in USD

Interesting analysis, but the fact the ethereum doesn't need to doubled on its value to surpass the bitcoin. I think that if ethereum worth more than $1500 and it already surpassed the bitcoin. Personally I think ETH will overtake BTC. We have already seen signs of this over past month or so. I expect this to be more evident going forward.

There’s no possibility in that perception that is too much exaggeration related to the market movement on certain date and time.. Bitcoin is not stable and all investors knows that and that is also the reason it is popular to them.. So if it doesn’t change then the stability issue has no impact or effects on investors mindset.. Ethereum has the potential to have much higher price but won’t be enough to overtake the one on top..
