Why BTC along with all major cryptocurrencis are down today? Not heard any news to reasonate with this drop.

I don't know for sure what happens to the price of the bitcoin. seems a lot of the bitcoin owner getting panic and choose to sell their bitcoin, or is there some sort of manipulation that makes the price go down.

we don't know What is the main reason of decreasing btc price. But i think positively it can recover soon. Even at present most of the coins are down. So many trader selling those coins in low price. I think the coin market will recover soon and going to be normal. Thanks...

Now BTC is really down drastically, I also find out, what really happened
It is observed by everyone who is currently investors pressing prices, by making negative news about bitcoin
and after this for sure, will be pumped, maybe 3-4 months away, I am very sure
and this is the right time to buy

The price drop of btc is normal because bitcoin price unstable from the time that it was created. That is one of the main characteristic of bitcoin,  the price can't be controlled by anyone.

it's Natural. BTC value is depend on Investment and how much interesting to buy this coin.  so BTC price going down is good to New Cripto-currency investor. because new ones can invest less money and start this Cripto-currency field.

Now there are too many reasons and it's hard to understand myself.

the first time this began, it was attributed to the korean FUD but they came out to say that they have no intent to ban cryptocurrency.

second was about the court case and that also turn out to be not the cause.

now the current news i heard was that, the fall is from the chinese holidays.

so if this is true, then we must expect growth after 14th Feb.

And now facebook ban bitcoin and ico ads from facebook.
This can make the price down because new comers will not interest anymore. Such big social media like facebook ban crypto, and new comers think twice, what is happening.

Either these are all organized movements against Bitcoin, or people and companies are trying to promote their own coins because they can.. The crypto community is pretty divided I would say.

For me, it is not new that bitcoin price or value will go down, because according to my classmate before I decided to be in with bitcoin or to experience the whole of it,  he stated that the value of bitcoin is not fixed and pump and dump of the price of it will occur every single moment. But even though the value of it is volatile still I chose to be a bitcoin user because for me, the characteristic of bitcoin which is being volatile will serves me as an advantage if you are a kind of person that is strategic one.  Smiley

Either these are all organized movements against Bitcoin, or people and companies are trying to promote their own coins because they can.. The crypto community is pretty divided I would say.

It isn't "organised movement". It's simply profit taking. Remember that 1800 new coins are minted every day, and at $8000 each, the market needs at least $14.4 million in new money coming in every day to absorb them. If existing money is exiting, then the price falls back.

That's why the best guide to the bitcoin price is the Google Trends chart for the keyword "bitcoin". When it rises, there is enough new money coming in to absorb the new coins and those existing coins that are being sold. If the interest falls, then the prices drop.

I don't care whether the prices are going down or not. I purchased most of my BTC in 2014, when the exchange rates were like $700 per coin. Even now, I am sitting on top of 12x returns. And the good thing is that I converted some of my coins to fiat a few days back, when the exchange rates were around $12,000 per coin.

I think when bitcoin increases, altcoins will also rise and when the price of bitcoin goes down, the price of altcoins will go down too, so it would be better for me to buy and start altcoins.

Congratulations on preserving some ofyour gains. $12k isn't really the peak price, but then again, we never know the future until it happens. Selling some was a good decision as I think that we will see a bumpy road ahead with all the regulation attempts going on.

The world biggest and best-known cryptocurrency slumped below the symbolic $10,000 threshold yesterday Wednesday February 1, but its value crashed further overnight to about $8,600. Bitcoin has fallen by more than 56 percent since the turn of the year, after peaking at nearly $20,000 in December 2017. CoinMarketCap price charts show that bitcoin has been falling for weeks, though this latest crash has been blamed on mounting confusion surrounding the Indian Government’s stance on cryptocurrencies.

The fall in btc is something the community shouldn't be soo much worries about.usually during early months of the year cryptocurrencies are expected to dip .Hence i am pretty sure the chinese holidays session is also having an impact towards this drastic fall of btc and the entire market as well

I've been confused by all the questions why bitcoin is down, down, down, and down again, I think just a lot of newbies ask this question.
and I hope for next there will not be any more questions why the bitcoin is down and down again. there are enough many explanations that answer why bitcoin drops. you should find a thread related to your question.
i am sorry.

It's because of the inflation rate last december. Alsobit is because of the supply and demand in bitcoin. The supply of bitcoin is only sufficient and the demand of bitcoin is very high so it might affect the price if bitcoin.

All this fall and rise in the bitcoin market is all a game by the big actors in bitcoin, when they want to sell they pump in more in other to gain much and the same thing when they want to buy again the created one scene or the other that will make bitcoin user's wanting to rush and sell they bitcoin at a cheap price. So I think this is they game and they are playing it well.

Basically because of this:

Quote
India's Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the country wants to "eliminate" the use of digital currencies in criminal activities, signaling tighter regulation in the country.

Arun Jaitley only said to eliminate it's use in criminal activities, which any country would be concerned about.

I don't think should effect the industry, as there was nothing negative about cryptocurrencis.

Bitcoin have down again and the bitcoin price now down to $10000 bitcoin value, its happen in another country in India the government at there have banned bitcoin for transaction in their country, so why the bitcoin value down again. The affect of bitcoin banned in India have make the bitcoin value down again. Just keep and hold your bitcoin and wait until the bitcoin price back to good price and will be high, maybe need three month for bitcoin will be high price.

initially I think the current bitcoin drop is a reasonable price correction. but this seems not just a correction, but there is a panic that accompanies, and perhaps also FUD.
