There is theory out there stating that individuals that act rationally would take the alternative that is more beneficial for them. In the case of money, particularly when it is lots of money, it is easy to forget any moral barrier to this.

So, I am the owner of an exchange. I have 1 Million bitcoins from people on the exchange and my business is giving me around 1 million a year in fees after covering the expenses. If I hack my own exchange I will make 100 years profit instantly, and since it is not really regulated, the risk is minimal.

There's nothing to do except be careful of our money and follow simple rules of security we would follow with our money : don't trust anyone, let your coins on a wallet you own the private key, don't let more than necessary on exchanges...

It is true that the hackers are partially playing role to destroy the Crypto market as they steal bitcoins from the btc holder which are stored in the online wallets . Some user store them in online wallets as there are not much aware about the online fraud regarding the hacking done by hackers to steal btc.Some even hack btc while transferring them in the exchange .Even some exchanges has also done fraud which opened up and vanished after collecting as much as bitcoins possible those were fake exchanges created by the hackers so that they can steal btc there are several cases which i came across and some of my friends who were new users of bitcoins even lost trust over the btc as they ended up losing btc and i feel it has created really a panic situation for the upcoming investors aswell.

this is not a news at all, hacking? scam? phishing? exist for years now for anything.
credentials, accounts, databases are all subject to hacks, why crypto should be immune to that? Especially if there are money involved somebody will find a way to steal whatever he can.
The weak ring on the chain is the human nature, not able to keep yours account safe, weak password, phishing link and so on.. nothing new.

I agree. In an industry that is heavily inclined using the internet to bridge transactions and trades as well as keep assets. It is surely very uneasy and frightful to think that your hard earned money, asset or coins would just be stolen like that. Unfortunately, they can do their dirty work in the dark, and worse, they can't even be arrested to pay for their crimes in most cases. I think the next best step is to intensify and make the encryption stronger in e-wallets and transactions so that they would have a hard time to crack the code and hack ones assets. Also, people should do their part and do whatever is necessary to be able to protect their wallets and what's in it.

we need a good tutorial for newbie so they can stay away from scam and hacker. that will be good to make bitcoin rise again. they need skill to protect themself before invest into anything

I don´t really think that is just like that. The problem is that this sector is too young, but we should not consider hacks as part of our everyday life frankly. If this happened on a bank, there would be many questions asked.

Let´s be honest, if you don´t trust anyone it would be impossible to trade, buy or sell bitcoin nor any other crypto. We should just try to control the risks we have.

no exchange should ever have a privkey online. there are many ways to still service people without having private keys on their server
no exchange should have peoples passwords stored in clear text.

but with that said, most exchange hacks were never hacks, just plausible denyiable excuses for the exchange owners to take the funds themselves and point the finger into space at some distant galaxy where anonymous hackers cant be found

Not just in crypto world, its the problem all over the internet. when the money is involve you have to expect that hackers and scammers are always there for greediness and to trick other people. There is nothing much we can do but to make our wallet safe and out of reach of hackers.

most of these exchanges that went away, they actually scammed people they never got hacked! it is a very profitable way of making a lot of bitcoin and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.
look at bittrex for example. they scammed thousands of users and people are still using them!

I don't think hackers and scammers are doing any thing wrong because we can see in past that when bitcoin was not in existence then still at that time hackers were available and hacking were going small to big big , so how can we blame with the cryptocurrency .
Here this is big truth in the cryptocurrency industries that market is much secured with mutual support of the investors Because technology that uses in the cryptocurrency is really better secured than what the banks system have in real life .
But still many scam platforms makes the bitcoin and another altcoins more scammy look Instead to show reality and reliability  by making Ponzi sites and spreading the investment plan with the attractive returns but in actual they scam into big amount .

       Everywhere there is good and evil. Hackers and scammers are always there online and offline,killer and thief are  their companions. They are normal in this world that full of sin.What i have say,that you should take a lot of care to avoid them. Always keep your private key and password safe and secret. Don't trust to anyone and don't put all your coins in an exchanger for a long period of time so that they can't easilly hack your account. Then learn more how to avoid hackers and scammers out there.

They do hire, actually. Security companies are smart, but there are smarter hackers as well. That's why cryptocurrency ownership is an individual responsibility. Just think of you owning a huge stash of gold coins: you buy a vault for security, and may hire a personnel to guard your property, but if you are still irresponsible as an owner - like announcing to the world you have a vault full of gold coins in your house, then smart thieves will make plans on how to rob you.
