Bitcoin downloads via BitTorrent

Guys!

 I'm wondering why there is no option to download the official Bitcoin software via Bittorrent P2P network...   :-/

 Anyway, I something happens in our world, I will always be seeding through P2P what I think is important for people, so, here is the Bitcoin software and source seeded via BitTorrent, powered by Transmission and Ubuntu!

 Well, this can be a simple test but, my point is, why do not provide Bitcoin downloads from Torrent at the main web site http://www.bitcoin.org/ ?


 After that, come to mind the .torrent file type and the Magnet URI scheme and I found this post:

It's not large enough for BitTorrent to be particularly useful. Remember that BitTorrent was designed to move very large files; for small files like the Bitcoin distribution it's faster and easier to just direct download. Now, BitTorrent could be quite useful for distributing copies of the block chain (e.g. blocks 0 through 134444) to new clients.

An old block chain used to have a torrent floating around. An updated one is available at http://bitcoin.bluematt.me/bitcoin-nightly/blockchain-nightly/ and I believe a snapshot is available on sf or gh somewhere. The block chain is the large part but if you download it, you will not check the validity. So I wouldn't trust a torrent of the block chain anymore.

It's best for you to download bitcoin from a trusted source like sf and then download the block chain from bitcoin's internal p2p network.

It should also be acceptable to have a trusted source -- i.e., the client developers -- to periodically push a .torrent of the blockchain to, say, Sourceforge, just like the client itself. The torrent protocol does include SHA for blocks and files, so it's actually a quite robust way to distribute things.

actually, BT is hash anal, it will automatically delete the pieces that do not match without asking you. all you need is for a trusted person to say what the hash is of the block chain is.

right now after i close the bitcoin client i have 1 file called log.0000000162 size is 9.53 MB (10,000,000 bytes). when i compress it is gets really small 1.35 MB (1,420,207 bytes). it takes hours to download that the normal way, but like 10 min at most on a bad connection via BT.
