It's true but there is people that would like to try to play with crypto without putting real money (and giving personal ID to be able to do it "just to try"). Faucets can be a start point, but very time consuming and with very low gains as you said.

Good faucets stopped long ago. As far as I am aware there are no faucets now that are worthwhile.
The era of being able to mine bitcoins at home has gone as well.

The best way to get crypto is to either buy it, or earn it with bounty campaigns.

Faucets lost their appeal as coins skyrocketed... unless you're living in a place where cost of life is extremely low, the amount you get today from faucets versus the time required to login, click etc. it's not worth anymore.

Freebitco.in is the king of faucets. Prizes in range between $0.002-$200 in BTC, weekly lottery, multiplier, reward points, browser mining and so on.
Faucets of Coinpot network is also not bad - Moonbitcoin, Bonusbitcoin, Bitfun (and also Moon altcoin faucets).
Also, there are some great less popular faucets like Yannik.biz. You can find many faucets on Faucethub.io, especially I like multi-coin faucets like Coinpot.win or Freebitcoin.in.

A quick google search will yield a lot of results for the variety of faucets available for a bunch of coins. But like others have stated, unless you plan on living off the referrals (and we're talking thousands of them), faucets are not a great way to earn bitcoin. If you're looking to get your feet wet and learn about Bitcoin, be careful... Bitcoin transaction fees are based on the size of the transactions, and because of the small micropayment nature of payments from faucets, you're looking at racking up inputs from all of the payments once you try to spend the Bitcoin that you earn from them. This will, in turn, cause your transaction size to become bigger which requires a higher fee to be able to send the payment.

An alternative would be to looking into joining bounties and signature campaigns here on the forums. Look in the services section, maintain a clean account, but most importantly, do your research about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency technology and start contributing to healthy conversations here on the forums. PLEASE don't become a shitposter; we already have hundreds of them on the forums.

Dude, it isn't 2015 anymore. Robot Coin and Bitcoin Alien have been disabled for a couple of years now. Bitcoinker isn't a "generator" faucet; it's a timed claim faucet. And Bonus Bitcoin is limited to claims every 15 minutes. You have no idea what the hell you're talking about, so stop spreading misinformation. Even if those sites were still active, the most you can make claiming from them would be a couple of bucks a month. Faucets used to pay out pretty before the price of Bitcoin jumped and before Google decided to demonetize ads from them. Now? Unless you have thousands of referrals, the amount you earn from faucets isn't even worth the electricity it takes for your device to visit them.

I really agree here.. I got 3 shit jobs simultaneously in spring last year to get as much money as quickly as possible to invest in bitcoin before the bull rally really took flight.. I just put in about 12-15 hours a day making barely above minimum wage til I burned out.. was absolutely worth it.. turned my few thousand into many more and was worth the  suffering (if you can really call it that). Remember sffering is often only temporary and the body can embrace and endure alot if you have the mindset to get through it (and you don't do it sustained for years and years).

I agree, faucets are an easy way to get Bitcoin for free, but it's also a waste of time. If you calculate the time you need for claiming, doing (easy) tasks and managing your balances, it's more profitable to spend this time for other ways to get free crypto. Some bounties are also paying in BTC, but the requirements to join there are very high.
And it's not unusual that some faucets disapper and you haven't withdrawn your satoshis. Therefore it's always a good decision to use microwallet sites like coinpot or faucethub.
