Hi,

Can you tell me more about HMQ1725 algorithm.. what miner should I use, it's better for AMD or NVidia?

Thank you and good luck!

When solo mining, do you need to specify your address somewhere? I have set the conf file in %appdata%\pulsar with my username and am specifying that rpcport, rpcuser, and rpcpass, but as yet have not seen any coins credited to the wallet. Nowhere is the receiving address specified. Am I doing this correctly?

hsrminer_hsr -o http://127.0.0.1:15799 -u <myrpcuser> -p <myrpcpass>

so how do you mine this thing?

You can mine solo for now:
Sure, you can do solo mining at this moment.
Use cpuminer-opt-3.8.0 or ccminer (for example)

Example Command :  cpuminer-aes-sse42.exe -a hmq1725 -o http://127.0.0.1:15799 -u user -p pass

Your configuration seems in order - when solo mining, you do not need to enter an address; it mines directly into the local running wallet. Did you restart the wallet after modifying the config file?

I did...I'm wondering if the miner I'm running is the wrong algorithm.  I switched it over to ccminer, but it gets about 1/3 the hash rate that the hsr_miner gets.  However, I can't specify the algorithm for the hsr_miner...it looks like it's working???

This is what I'm seeing...(just restarted both to show you):

Difficulty on this is really high or people really want these I guess.. I let this run 6+ hours only found 1 block.

In a hybrid POW/POS coin, does the POS side make the difficulty of the POW side go up to keep block times at target?

Solo mining of this coin is a lottery because you can find block with 1 or 10 coins. IMHO pool mining is a good idea.
POS and POW difficulties are different.

for nVidia use ccminer 2.2.4:
 ccminer -a hmq1725 -o stratum+tcp://hashfaster.com:3747 -u <wallet> -p c=PLSR

for AMD use sgminer 5.1.1 or more
sgminer -o stratum+tcp://hashfaster.com:3747 -u <wallet> -p c=PLSR

Why would you specifically aiming for Pulsar to be traded on Yobit? It's the worst exchange out there with no accountability at all.

Yes, that's right
There are much better quality exchanges, and listing fees are also cheaper
