BTCJam asks for quite a bit of personal information in order to join.

They can obviously create havoc with this if either they're malicious, or just have bad security around their site.

Does anybody else have experience with BTCJam? Either from an investor perspective or loaner perspective?

Seems like the BTC equivalent of LendingClub, which is great, if it's legit.

I've only loaned there, never borrowed. However i have to say it is one of the worst investment vehicles for your bitcoin. That place has just as many, if not more, scammers than this forum. I would not recommend using that service.

Not that I know of. BTCjam has this rule for buyers:

3. International Arbitration
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or the breach of this contract, shall be settled by binding internet arbitration at net-arb.com. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and legally binding and judgment may be entered thereon.

Not sure if it does it, But so far, invested in 10 people, almost half in which had no rep, got all of them back safely.

coinlenders.com is safer, and it has been working for months.

i heard CoinLenders went nonoperational recently -- i.e. the new "demo" warning on the homepage. any chance you can confirm firsthand that they're still chugging along?

It's only for legal reason that it states that it is a demo, but as written, the demo is fully functionnal, and giving fee rebates every day for amount greater than 1 btc.

i can't quite place faith in a service that sports the disclaimer: "nothing is real." if that's true, and i fall into believing as much... i may cease to exist altogether.

i spotted two other threads discussing CL's recent status shortly after posting in this thread. it's funny how information tends to pop up around here.

So what happens with the old investors, no more fee rebates? I imagine I can withdraw the coins I have in your site right?
The old site has shut down however the demo instance has been prefilled with real world data. The demo site functions exactly the same way as the "old site".

It is only a demo, and should not be seen as an investment.

It is only a demo, and should not be seen as an investment.
I hope that the demo is fully functioning. We shall see at 1am.
It is.
