@olkah Hmmm.... that's a very good point. It's not really fair that people who can compile wallets are able to get a head start. We can't give you preferential treatment, but having chatted briefly to the team we agree that it would be better to make Github public at the exact same time we update the website and [ANN] with wallet download links. Thanks!

Remember that the block reward will scale up from 1.25 to 250 LCC over the first 400 blocks after the fork. From our simulations, 400 blocks should give DarkGravity time to set the difficulty appropriately for available hashpower, for four orders of magnitude of hashpower!

As you can hopefully tell, we really, really want to make the launch as fair as possible. If anyone has any ideas that might help with that, or that we might have missed, we're all ears.

the most honest start to this release, this release of the Windows wallet +pool and very desirable exchange  Smiley
the most honest start to this release, this release of the Windows wallet +pool is a minimum !.  Smiley

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

@olkah I completely agree. Until we release the wallet, until we have hashpower support, LCC is absolutely unproven. I can promise that the wallet will be released as soon as possible after the fork block, and that we will have at least one pool available at the same time.

Two pools would be better than one, and three would be better than two. The more distributed our hashpower, the better. If you're interested in setting up a pool, please do come and make contact via Discord or email Smiley

Looking forward to this one, am I simply able to point the "old" ASICs at a LCC pool?

OMG people are sooo f#cking stupid, they all say "LTC fork why not?" yeah why not??
Are you completely dumb? And im serious i mean all of you cunts, who don't read the first comments.
Literally you guys have been warned about this, directly from Charlie who is working on the official Litecoin project.
If you don't have brain enough about what to do, go to twitter, search Litecoin Project. And just read a little, just
a little won't even take 2 minutes, and you notice the post! The post that warns LTC users about upcoming forks,
are scam as they no approve it. You will hear from LTC team if a fork is not scam. Trust.

Now @olkah start explaining, how you start this project when you read this.

btw i didnt have to do this copy picture thing, but people are blind. And yes i already knew about
the post from Charlie LEE, this is another reason i think you should think about your actions,
and know about this project.

Edit: i even had to do my first post, just to show you noobs with countless of posts, yet you dont know shit hahaha.

It's a risk like any new altcoin, the "Scam" Charlie mentions is purely to do with the name not the mechanism via how it is delivered or the code used.

I will mine the fuck out of this and hope sometime next year it's worth something; this is how we make money (those of us that don't think we are the fucking wolf of wall street anyway).

This is obviously can understand. Don't get me wrong, i actually think this project looks nice and such a clean overlay.
And also that's why i am here, to find new projects that will x10-x20 in matter of time, for an example when it hits binance or such.
But regarding all the comments, it just feels like many people are missing out what Charlie wrote. It gives me seconds thoughts,
and to be honest i will just stick to BTCP for now. Even thought this is interesting, i just can't trust it. Even the topic starter could reply
to all those speculations, about Charlie's post on twitter. But he doesn't, i mean how can you possibly trust this after reading such post?

I think that LCC is the brainchild of bitmain like Bitcoin cash and guess who dominates SHa256 algo obviously it's bitmain and that's why they have changed  the algorithm from scrypt to sha256 because usually the forks are of the same algorithm apart from some exception like Bitcoin Gold but that too have a reasoning behind it that is  to avoid ASICS. And I think that the new model V9 antminer of 4 Ths launched by bitmain is also somehow linked to this coin launch.

This is a really good point although i wouldnt go so far as to speculate that bitmain is behind the project, but it does say something to me that they changed it to sha256...

there could be some serious interest there and this coin could do well with just that small mining niche..

Devs I dont fully understand replay protection, can you explain a little bit about it and if it will be used in this fork?

Hi all, we are happy to reply about Charlie Lee's posts.

We don't want to engage on Twitter and protest our innocence, etc. He is absolutely correct to be skeptical.

We are absolutely, 100%, NOT an "official" Litecoin-endorsed project.

EVERYONE is correct to be skeptical. Skeptical is a sensible default state! If you like, consider us a tutorial level for LTC forking. Practice safe forking and never import a private key that still has live coins on it into ANY wallet or website -- including ours.

And remember, you don't have to claim right away; your LCC won't go away. Wait and see how others find the process. Nothing stopping you making sure your LTC are on a key you control for the fork block, in case you ever decide to claim in the future.

Oh, and we're definitely not bitmain!

Devs I dont fully understand replay protection, can you explain a little bit about it and if it will be used in this fork?

Replay attacks can occur when the same transaction can be valid on two blockchains
you could do the legimate transaction on one network, then literally copy the transaction over to the other blockchain and it would be validated, e.g., without you having to sign for it there
this is the case when two blockchains use the same strategies for signing and checking the transactions
even if the networks use different addresses (as ours do) they still resolve on the blockchain to the same private key. The address is derived from the private key, but the private key is what actually matters, and as these are the same, replay attacks would be possible.
To implement replay attack protection, you need to make it so the same transaction wont validate on both networks. We do this by changing the consensus rules related to how a transaction is signed. If these are different on the two networks, then the same transaction will not validate on both (this works in either direction) and therefore, the network is protected from replay attacks.

That does mean that transaction created in Litecoin Cash network will not be accepted in Litecoin network, or transaction created in Litecoin network will not be accepted in Litecoin Cash network.

I'm supporting this fork like I supported the other previous bitcoin forked which proves to be competitive in the market, this is the first so called litecoin fork so we'll see how it goes this is the best attitude right now, I got some litecoin when everything is in red so it's a win win situation for litecoin holders because you are getting ten times of litecoin cash.

@robelneo: Welcome aboard, and thanks for the support Smiley

@everyone: Discord seems to be where our community is beginning to crystalize. Drop by if you have any questions at all. We had an impromptu developer Q & A this evening with plenty of great questions. In other news, a huge interview with Tanner should drop in a few hours; we'll link it here as soon as it's published.

Probably to use ASIC's to get an initial horde before the difficulty gets too high.
