I plan to hodl my LTC until the fork to get 10x LCC for each LTC. I would change my LTC to another altcoin as soon as the fork happened. So do I need to wait until block 1371112 or can I move my LTC as soon as block 1371111 is discovered ?
you should move your ltc to another wallet some blocks after the fork happened. wait for some blocks more. Then in a new LCC wallet (if any) import your old wallet keys.

Keep in mind that:
a) many people will do this, get their LCC and sell them fast for some other altoicoin, just like you.
b) this means that the price of LCC will drop like a rock.
c) you will probably not be that fast to make any money
d) there is no such thing as free money. forks are like printed fiat money: inflation, not a generation of wealth. Printing money doesn't generate wealth, it only takes wealth from those who have it to those who print it.
e) By the time you do this, the price of LTC will have dropped due to people like you who wanted LTC only for the airdrop, selling their LTC and switching back to the coins they had before the fork.
f) Any money you get from selling your LCC will be far less than the money you will lose from the price drop of LTC. It's a zero sum game.

P.S.: In the good scenario that some exchange will accept and create LCC pairs, if they don't you're left holding the bag.

I agree with most of your points, but I dont think anyone buying litecoin just for the fork will be disappointed if they hold their LTC, this fork is such a different beast then many others in the past. You cant compare this fork to the bitcoin cash fork or any other, its like this fork wave has died off and most people are just kinda like......"meh another fork" when it comes to this one.

I expected there to be atleast one exchange on board at this point...kind of concerning
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean that this is a worse fork than bitcoin cash? If so, yeah I totally agree.

I dont think its any worse or any better really, LCC will turn out to just be another altcoin I think, my main point is that this fork will not get anywhere near the attention that's been given to the big bitcoin forks....so ya your right that the price could get slammed. we will see

So does pulling out the OLD 2013 ASIC's and mining this make any sense? Thoughts?

My situation below:

Anyone have any idea if drag'ing out the Swedish ASIC KNCminer 550gh sha-256  Jupiter is worth doing to mine Litecoin Cash on Feb 19th launch?

it will fork then, but will fork to sha-256...so unclear with a change of protocol if difficulty will start from the floor again?

no idea or guess on this is even worth it...but than again after GARLICOIN last week...all things are possible (till they fork again) Smiley

let me know what folk think...worse that happens I break even on firing the old knc Jupiters up for heat this winter and nostalgia for a few days/weeks for fun

and funny (likely worthless) litecoin cash FORK money

thoughts?

brad

pile in here...this may not make any sense, but looking for an excuse to put them back up and heat the basement, (if this all comes to naught)

also, any other equipment of a  Sha-256 nature, planning on piling on this? or just too silly?

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Again, what do you think "scam" means in this context?

And how am I fooling anyone?

Please try to be constructive and not just throw labels left and right without
thinking before you post

I'm not his lawyer but for the following questions:

a) Does this fork offer a significant improvement other than "you will be able to use old mining hardware" ?
b) Is this altcoin registered in any exchange ?
c) Is this a fork without premined coins ?
d) Is there a whitepaper describing the theory and technicalities ?
e) Is the team behind this fork transparent (their full names, first and last provided) ?

If the answer to most of the above questions is "no" then there are reasons enough to call this fork a scam.

What kind of scam ? Dunno. Here's a wild guess: Some people announce this fork and make some noise (in social media) in order to pump litecoin (which they have cheaply purchased before the announcement). Price goes up. They sell when price is up. Everyone understands that this fork is stupid and useless. Price goes again down. They buy back their LTC at a huge discount. PROFIT!

Now, this is much better post  Grin

As I'm holding some LTC too, I won't reject some free coin, but I have some reservations too, and certainly won't be first
to run LCC wallet...

However, I'm bit tired reading "because Charlie Lee said so" posts...same thing was happening during every BTC fork, too

I hold LTC for litepay, coming at 26.02, and not for LCC, anyway

Me too , This is the real reason why LTC surges , LTC just fine and no need to stupid fork to improve it

- As soon as possible after the fork, expected within 24 hours. And yes, full Mac QT wallet and headless wallets will be available.

Anyone have any idea if drag'ing out the Swedish ASIC KNCminer 550gh sha-256  Jupiter is worth doing to mine Litecoin Cash on Feb 19th launch?

- In our opinion, yes.

So, will we be able to solo mine this with the windows wallet?  If so, is there documentation out there?  Doesn't seem like there is enough info available at the moment...
