What is the advantage of switching scrypt to sha-256? Also, LCC can't propagate the idea that it's superior to Litecoin, if that is clear, Litecoin Cash, welcome, of course, I'll participate! Will the LCC price be something like $10 to $25?

I'm not convinced it'll take any hashpower off BTC at all if i'm being honest. I will mine with old tech to get some LCC while the network is quiet but i won't be holding the LCC network up for any length of time... I get free power for my miners so any BTC is profit in my eyes... LCC probably start under $10... more likely under $5... from there it depends on the abilities of the development team and their marketing strategy. Can't see it ever getting anywhere near prices of BitcoinCash.

what you tossing up...I'm thinking of tossing up the old 2013 550gh KNC Jupiter Sha-256 ASIC's...for the heck of it....(besides its winter, I can justify it as space heaters)

found the pool (supposedly) https://cryptopool.party/...no idea of the params of setup yet

need (preferably) a paper wallet address method... web wallets tend to go poof on new coin launches (ex. garlicoin but I moved my stuff to paper wallets) (never could get the desktop
version as an example with them to work with windows 10)

so anyway, lets fire the beasts up ....how far have folk gotten on knc Jupiters or knc Neptunes or knc Saturns as examples of stuff that should work for a bit on this launch of LCC...

pm or post here

not a lot of time this LCC goes live on Sunday..so scrambling today..

brad

Yeah, i'd better put my LTC into a paper wallet.... PM'd you mate. been a while!

i think i sussed this out.
i transfer all my LTC from exchange to litcoin core wallet on my PC i just finished setting up, wait until it forks, a couple blocks later move back to the exchange where it came from, download the new Litecoin Cash wallet, extract my private key from the Litecoin Core Wallet on PC and put into the Litecoin Cash wallet and claim my lite coin cash.
that about right???

yes and no.

dont send your coins back to an exchange. keep them in your wallet.
send your coins from the exchange to jaxx.io wallet. empty this wallet after the fork and send you coins to http://electrumltc.org wallet. you dont have to download the blockchain and you have the private keys.

So, I want to revert back to using the same wallet which I use to hodl my stash of LTC, safely (not necessarily the same wallet.dat, just the same litecoin core on PC1)

?will this work:

Hodling LTC in litecoin core wallet in PC1...
wait for fork...
after fork move coins to litecoin core wallet in PC2...
take privkey from PC1
import privkey to LCC wallet
dump free shitcoins
delete wallet.dat from PC1 (this being the initial privkey which earned free LCC at fork)
reload litecoin core on PC1 (this gives a new wallet.dat - and new privkeys)
move LTC from PC2 back to PC1.

this'll keep my LTC safe, right?

What's everyone take on Litecoin Cash? Just a curious since I don't see much hype over fork block, much less than from altcoin LTC but read this thread and see a lot person willing to move LTC back to their wallet.

Hi All,

So I created a Jaxx LTC desktop wallet (which does not download the entire blockchain it seems).  Transferred suucessfully my LTC from my ledger to the Jaxx wallet.

So tonight during block height 1371111 creation, the LCC chain will recognize my balance in the Jaxx wallet at that time?  After the block 1371111, I plan to send
all LTC back to ledger wallet.  I then find and download the LCC desktop wallet (from somewhere?) then import the private keys from my [now empty] Jaxx wallet.  And I should see my balance of LCC sitting there in the LCC wallet?

Just checking I have done the correct steps before the fork tonight.
Cheers

It won't get near Bitcoin Cash. With all due respect but Roger Ver has a real lobby backing him (doesn't mean I like him). There is serious money involved and the marketcap that BCH currently has is already pretty impressive. Not that easy to get there with something like LCC Wink

yes this should work. you can see the private key form the LTC addresses you used in jaxx. the private key should then let you access the LTCC coins. but dont blame me if it does not work.

Why not just make a copy of your LTC wallet.dat, rename that and put it in your LTC Cash wallet folder, and leave your LTC wallet alone?  You should have two good wallets.

It's the first litecoin cash, we have seen a lot of bitcoin fork in the top 20 so we can also see this coin to the top 30 level also so if this reaches $10 it will be one of the profitable airdrops in the market, only two days to go and holders are all excited to receive their shares.

Is litecoin cash on any exchanges yet? It's getting quite a lot of negative press. See the following article:

As I wrote back on Valentine’s Day, I believe Litecoin Cash is a scam. Not one single major exchange has announced support for Litecoin Cash, and the creators of this coin suggest that users will only get said coin if they use their Litecoin Cash wallet

What do the develpers think about that?

We think that having YoBit and four others before launch isn't bad at all Smiley

I'm excited and optimistic about this fork (though I wish it was going to be a GPU mineable algo)

QUESTION: As per the 'safe forking' info provided, I have installed the LTC Core wallet and placed my LTC there in anticipation of the fork. My Question is - WHEN exactly should I move the LTC? The minute we reach 1371111 or give it another block?

Thanks, and good luck everyone.

I'd have to agree, except shouldn't it be 3 1/2? I don't think that you can count Tradesatoshi as more than half...

Fork confuses people's thoughts, creating an opinion that Litecoin is splitting. The Litecoin community is not interested in the split. Just some people are trying to make money fast. And Litecoin in the title gives them some legitimacy.
Lee said he does not observe the debate in the Litecoin community. Concerning the use of the sha256 algorithm for Litecoin Cash mining, Lee noted that "no one wants to shell out for sha256. It's pretty stupid. "
