Nigeria To Launch Its Own Digital Currency[/b]

On Monday, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)🇳🇬 announced to work with the blockchain payments startup Bitt Inc., to launch the African nation’s eNaira digital currency later this year, according to Coindesk.

As stated in the official press release by the CBN - the digital currency also known as CBDC, will ease cross-border trade, promote financial inclusion and speed up remittances. CBDC could also be used to improve monetary policy in the inflation-prone country.

Barbados-based Bitt, is a Medici Ventures-backed company with a history of CBDC contracts.
But Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy - will this be a big challenge for Bitt Inc. ?

⇢ Delegation

The “delegation” feature allows users to lend others their voting power ⚡️.
For example: If someone holds APX tokens in their account wallet, but isn’t very active with the account, not sharing content, commenting or upvoting - they could “delegate” their staked / “powered up ⬆️” APX tokens to another account.

The receiving account would be able to vote on content with much more voting power, thus distributing more APX tokens and having more influence over the reward distribution.
The receiving account would therefore be able to use the voting power and earn more in return 💰, but would not be able to withdraw or send the delegated tokens ☝️The person on the delegating end can also enter period and decide when the delegation should be removed and automatically return back to the owner account!

⇢ Power Up / Down

APPICS voting power represents APPICS tokens (APX), which reflects the level of influence that an account has over the rewards distribution compared to the rest of the network.

When a user chooses to purchase APX tokens and use them as voting power on the APPICS platform, they can choose to “power up ⬆️” their liquid balance, turning them into APPICS voting power, thus increasing the weight of their vote.
❌APPICS power (locked APX tokens) cannot be transferred or traded directly, but the account owner has the option to unlock 🔓and convert it back to liquid APPICS (APX) tokens in weekly payments through the feature “power down⬇️”.

As the APPICS power decreases, the account also loses voting power proportionally to the amount of tokens withdrawn ☝️

To conclude: the more APX tokens you own (either earned or bought) the higher the power of your vote and influence in the network.

When you click on the “discover” button above any category, you are taken to a dedicated section of the APPICS App that displays sponsors, brands and curated content.

We believe the user experience should always come first and remain the focus of the application.
On other social media apps, users often feel abused and taken advantage of by advertising companies who sneak into their personal feed, which makes the user become upset with the brand being displayed on the AD.

On APPICS, users can choose what ads they want to see, pick a category and consciously discover sponsorships and curated content, including ADS.

What makes APPICS so special and how does it differ from other social media platforms?
Besides being built on one of the greenest, fastest and cheapest blockchains available today, APPICS has some incredible features that we are explaining in this series.

This feature lets you upvote and distribute your voting power🔋
With the “Voting Slider” you can choose what percentage of your voting power you want to “vote” on a post with.
Compared to other social media platforms where every “like” is the same, the voting slider on APPICS gives users the opportunity to decide how much they like a post! You can decide how high or low your vote should be,  inviting you to really absorb the content and decide the quality of each post.

Since users have limited voting power each day, we recommend to vote with less than 50% for most content and only choose to reward high quality posts with more than 50% voting power. ⚡️

☝️ Keep in mind that your voting power depends on the amount of APX tokens in your wallet. The more APX and the more voting power you have, the higher the weight of your vote!
So if you have a lot of voting power and vote with just 10%, you can still assign much more rewards to a post than someone with little voting power who votes with 100%.

Bitcoin Overtook Facebook 😯

As many of you probably noticed, Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp went down for several hours yesterday. The outage caused Mark Zuckerberg to lose approximately $7 billion, and reduced the worth of his company by around $40 billion.

In turn, this means that #Bitcoin has now surpassed Facebook by market cap - since the social media giant now dropped to be the 8th largest company in the world by market cap.
