I don't think it is really possible to stop ICO scam. I think we should be focusing on the other side. May be some regulations and licensing is not so bad in the end of the day.

Yes, I am also now inclined to the fact that regulation of this area is not such a bad idea. The main thing is not to overdo it with regulation, so as not to harm the ICO sphere.  Roll Eyes

Let ICO holders automatically send coins to your Ethereum wallet just after receiving your Ethereum

Just like, betrium.co is doing.

KYC is really useless for crypto currency traders.
Technology era, no one can stop the fraudulent ICO projects. We should be more careful when choosing a potential ICO project to reduce the risk of investment. You should consider staff, roadmap, community .... etc. These factors speak up the quality of the ICO project.

how to protect yourself from scams, dodgy investments and down-right bad guys.
Lack of Online Presence: Always check the team behind an ICO.
Guaranteed Profits: If an offer sounds too good to be true, it is.
No White Papers or Bad White Papers: A white paper is the core of an ICO proposition, and should outline both the technical and fundamental drivers of a project. If there’s no white paper, don’t invest. Always check to see if a white paper is plagiarized by performing a search for quoted passages
Imbalanced Premines: A premine makes a specific amount of tokens available to early investors or team members before an ICO crowdsale goes live. If an ICO reserves a massive amount of capital for its team, it’s likely an exit scam

Nowadays scammers are so ingenious that they can even forge timetables, for example, to take and insert into the development team real people who don't know about it at all. How to find the truth?

There's no easy way,you have to depend on yourself to not getting scammed by those shady ICO.Research their background info and decide for yourself if that project is scam or not, don't be blinded by their sweet promises.ICO scam can be stopped only when cryptocurrency is not a thing anymore.

I think there is no way to block phishing ICO projects, we just learn, improve ICO knowledge to analyze them more thoroughly. Avoid phishing projects that reduce risk. The technology market thrives, no one controls all the ICO projects.

If it is so easy to prevent scam, it didn’t exist at all. But now we can see it everywhere. It is a pity, but scams are very difficult to avoid Embarrassed

Well, KYC is not useless for project developers. As if taxman will come to their office or they need to do full audit, they have people who have contributed to the project and can show that data..

Stopping the current scam ICO is not possible because of the sales of each ICO's Token amount. Often ICO projects will distribute Token after the launch of the ICO because they will then count the number of Tokens that will be allocated to different campaigns and estimate the number of tokens per skate. Therefore, it is necessary to have excellent ICO project analysis skills through indicators to avoid ICO scam.

Do a thorough research before investing in any ICo to minimize scam. Check the problem intended to be solved by the project; it will enable you to know if the project can stand the test of time or not. Also check the team, Whitepaper, etc.

It is no easy to spot the false project (although the small percent of ICOs can be seen in the start). The whitepaper is key for the revealing of the good project. Also, many of the ICO developers are providing the list of their consultants which can be revealed as false if researched thoroughly (some consultants don't even know they have been connected with the team).

ICOs scams cant is stopped if the developers are smart enough because when they see a small amount of possibility that they are revealed as scammers they run without a trace with the money the investors had given them. Investors must stay vigilant if they don't want to lose money to the scam projects!

Scam projects are really hard to find nor it can be stop easily. Scammers are just keep on hiding their real identy in the public and we all knew that here in but everything are anonymous.
Absolutely there is no such ways to to stop this,  it is our own perceptions to find scam and never engage with them.

For me ,the best way to stop ICO scam is that there are some organize  division of this community to filtered those coming ICO project  if this kind of platform is fake or scam so that  the moral of this community will remain high and not affected those who only things doings is to make a fraud into this  community forum.actually  its hard to determine if that ICO is scam, but if there is part of this organization that filtered the incoming ICO maybe the scamming in this forum  would be minimized.

This is the first stage of prevent ico scam but i dont think this is fully working because scam is not only about dont get the token.
Though we get the token but we still get scam if the token does not hve value because the developers dont do like in whitepaper.

I think we cannot stop ICO from doing scam. People just need to be vigilance. Do a research and ask for advice to others before jumping into ICOs.
I agree they need make research for it because its hard to stop scam, because they have good project so we dont know if scam or not.

As if you can control the people behind of the ICO to scam others or be honest. There are no easy way to stop ICO scam, only by research thoroughly you will lessen the chance of investing to a scam ICO.
I've read a nice guideline on how to avoid being scam by ICO check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2822896.0
Thats right , and also need to share some scam there to avoid people to get scam. Thats why be careful to choose always.

There's no easy way in stopping ICO scams as they start like a legit one at first and just goes undetected after they've acquired the funds. If an investor is meticulous enough to check everything before investing then there's 60% chance of being scammed. The 30% will depend on how the ICO team performs after a few months until the end of the ICO and the 10 percent will be if they will be really listed on crypto market exchangers.

I don't think what you have proposed is a solution to the ICO problem. I think the public needs to educate themselves more on the dangers. Nothing in life comes free. People need to understand the reason the rewards are so high is because the space is so and the risks that come with that are huge
