Seems like it's every other day PayPal gets a bad write up. I hate them as a company and hope everyone else sees the light!

I hear that.  I once had my identity stolen and had my PayPal account wiped, transferred to euros to some other address.  I immediately asked PayPal to help me; 2-3 days later, they said they could not detect any unusual activity going on with my account, and refused to help me any further.

Luckily the thief was stupid, and the money wound up in limbo in my previous Skype account, and Skype was able to refund me the cash before it could go anywhere.  All in all, I'll give PayPal 0/10; would not use again.

They shot themselves in the other foot a few weeks back:

unfrozen now, but lots of bad press for such ignorant draconian behavior.

Hopefully he'll have better luck than Something Awful did during its 2005 run-in with PayPal: After raising over $30,000 in nine hours to aid Red Cross efforts following Hurricane Katrina, SA's PayPal account was frozen for suspicious activity, ultimately resulting in all donated funds, minus service fees, being returned to donators.

Last week PayPal blocked the account of GlassUp, a Google Glass competitor that was raising money on Indiegogo. GlassUp had raised $100,000 of a $150,000 goal and PayPal informed project founder Franceso Giartosio that he would only release “a tiny amount of the funds” until final delivery of the product — funds that Giartosio needed to deliver the products.

Earning interest on frozen funds seems to be part of their business model.
