Being a newbie, can some kind person please explain to me how bounty campaigns work, how do I join in and how do you get paid? Do I have to have a deep technical understanding of BTC and the programing behind it?

Bounties works with your promoting actions and generally don't need any ranks. On some bounties you need rank but in my opinion on 90% of them you don't need. (rank is 100% request for signature campaigns) The major part are bounties for altcoins and you can find here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0, the payment is generally in tokens on eth address ( you must have private keys ) but they can be on Neo waves or others coin.
You can find something with bitcoin payment here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 but you will not find so many opportunities.

You only need social media account(facebook twitter medium or others, depending on bounty) and followers, some bounties require only the join on telegram with no followers/groups.

How the bounty works?
They give to you the istruction and the majority works in this way
1- apply for the bounty to see if you have the minimal requirement (number of followers/trust/rank/ banned countries)
2- do the work request
3- post your job (depends on bounty how, where and when)

The payment is done almost everytime after the ico crowdsale, (days/months I saw 2 days to 40days depends on bounty).
No on 99% of the time you don't need techinal infomations about BTC or others coin.

Hi coinlocket, can you quickly clarify, this is one thing I never understood:
I thought my private key was the ONE THING I was never ever supposed to give away? Yet, I repeatedly read that in order to recieve your bounty in tokens you have to hand it out. But wouldn't that enable the other party to access your wallet ??

OFcourse, NEVER SEND private keys, the private keys is for later for you to get the access on your wallet.
For example if you put an address and you have not the provate keys you can't claim your token after cause you can't access to your address, yuo need a address like on https://www.myetherwallet.com/ where you can get your private keys.
On bounty you will send your public key.

Really love this question so much. Been reading a lot of these lately. I have a friend who has been doing campaigns for about a year now. And he has been so good in finding campaigns that has a lot of potential. After earning something here I suggest to use those eanings for trading. There’s a lot of opportunities there for growth. I have a friend as well who is now a name in the trading industry. But he did not start here, instead he risk money in the first part of his trading life. Hopefully you can something fron this. there is no special technique in joining a bounty, try to read the rules, terms and conditions of some bounty. It's almost the same. You just run the assignment every week until the end of bounty. For payment schedule also been arranged by the manager and delivered on the thread. So read it carefully.

No friend. Actually what you should have is a fb account or twitter account and other social media accounts if you like. In my case i do only signature and fb bounty campaign only. You fill the bounty form according to which you are willing to join and complete the tasks they have mentioned in their thread. But even in some fb bounty campaign you have to be at least a jr member in bitcointalk forum. So increase your activity here and upgrade your rank.

I prefer article or video bounties as if you've set them up, it can be quicker than twitter and facebook and can be more rewarding!

you don’t need deep understanding, u can start pretty quickly as long as u have some good social profiles, if u target social bounties, since they are more easy to join (u just need to teeet or follow) compared to translations and articles (takes more time to write and so on)

To bounty campaign you can earn project's coins by taking tasks as manager require. Every campaign has their own rules so you need to compliance it during campaign period.

Just click the bounty thread and everything is there, like when will be the payment date, qualification and other.

Signature campaign - preferably Jr. Member rank and above,
Other campaigns like Facebook and Twitter they accept newbies with an lot friends and followers.....

Bounties are essentially reward mechanisms offered to people by companies..you do certain tasks and are rewarded in exchange. The tasks are never too complicated, just tasks that are necessary for the success of the coin the developers created. Examples would be promoting the new coin on twitter, or designing a logo for that coin. Something anyone can do in their spare time. Hope this helps
