after this major price correction. i want to see what are your ideas on this. lets say you bought bitcoin 2 years ago. you notice prices were high at 19,000$ should u sell or continue to hold? what are your thoughts after this huge correction?

it is probably too late to sell after holding since the 19000$ correction.

It depends on a few factors. If you bought Bitcoins for $500 and the price went up to $19,000 you could cash some in for a good profit but I think it depends on how much you own. If you just had 1 Bitcoin, you would have an $18,500 profit. That’s a good gain but it’s not life changing money. I would only sell if I have a huge amount of Bitcoins and I would just sell a little. I would hold the rest for bigger profit later.

Well the right rule for making profit with trading in short term is buying low and selling high, not the inverse as OP stated above. But for real profit in long term there is no doubt that holding is more profitable, especially if you choose carefully the coins you re holding, which have the most promising potential.
The right thing to consider when you are going to trade is to always buy when it is low and always sell when it is high. For me, im going to choose to hold my bitcoin rather that to trade it. Well i guess i believe that patience is a virtue and i will be patient because i know everything will be worth the wait. And for me to hold is less risky than to trade.

Well for this category i would Hold it  until the price of my  holding was high. This strategy is the best weapon so that your profit were running water which always flowing. In terms if all coins was falling down the first method for us was holding our coins and buy other altcoins.A simple strategy but the impact of your income was totally good.

I think buy low sell high which means buy or invest a coins or tokens with the under value price then sell high when the value of the coins or tokens is pump. This is the way if you want a quick profit for buy low, sell high. If you want 5% profit then go. And for the hold i think this is best even you take too much time to wait for the big profit but im sure you are worth to wait.

it is probably too late to sell after holding since the 19000$ correction.

You should wait for the bitcoin price to go back up, you can hold when the bitcoin price is high, unfortunately if you sell it when the price is low, you should be more patient.

My research about the richest crypto holders proves that holding these assets is the way to become rich. I don't know much about trading and I don't hold any assets yet, but eager to learn more and get started.  Smiley

I got learn from some senior trader that they will take cut loss and taking buy back on price buy and gain profit in short sell. Bitcoin price going to $19,000 it's still long way, so i think you decision to hold it can too risky.

I choose to sell, you got profit by holding for two years and what possibly be the price of bitcoin way back then $500? $600? $1000? So if you choose to sell $19,000 its a nice profit.
what are your thoughts after this huge correction?
Which this correction, its really a huge one and its hard to tell well it can recover.
it is probably too late to sell after holding since the 19000$ correction.
There's still profit if you held for 2 years.

Either you should have sold your bitcoins during ATH or else, now you should just wait as price has fallen down. Doing contradictory to this does not seem to be wise.During such ATH,we could sell some small percentage of bitcoins to enjoy the higher price.Buying high and selling is always not advisable and it could be only done if we clearly know that bitcoin price is more to crash so that bitcoins could be bought once again at lower price which is termed as shorting.

For short term i think buy low sell high is the best but if you want to earn more and want long term hold will be the best. For me hold is the best because you can predict when you will sell your coin and in buy low sell high is not always predicted because there will be a time that you cant sell it because its low.

I tend to hold a contrarian belief to trading, which is sell when everyone is buying and buy when everyone is selling. For example, selling after the shootup to $20 and buying when it dipped to $5k. If there ever is a serious crash that is the time to buy. Everyone likes to buy when things are over priced yet like to sell on a discount.

I see your belief in Holding laid out and questioned whether you will give up and sell for a losing price or continue holding no matter how bad the scenario will happen.
I think more survive, wait for the price to go up again.
Too late to try to return your capital and it is not advisable to sell your coins at a low price unless it is really worth holding.

Buying high and selling low? Is this correct? why would anyone do that when its obviously a big loss? Unless that some unexpected reason will occure to bitcoin that may cause it to fall and that makes people think that their asset will be worthless so they are selling it low as soon as possible. However those just my thoughts regarding the questions which is by far from expectations. Anyway the best thing you should do is continue holding.

If you bought bitcoin two years ago you still have huge profits, now which one is better will depend on what are you best, if you can more or less predict the movements of the market then become a trader, if you have the patience to wait for bitcoin to grow on its own then become a holder.

If you buy at a higher price then sell it in a lower price thats a loss on your part. The right way is to buy low and then wait for the high price to sell.  Holding up bitcoins for some time may not end up your life. But if you are patient enough to wait then you'll get what you deserve and maybe even more.

If you have bought Bitcoin 2 years ago selling now will still make you profit as the prices I believe in 2016 have reached below 1,000$. But if I were you after I sold Bitcoin now I would still accumulate Bitcoin at a cheaper price. For example I am waiting for Bitcoin to re-test key resistance levels around 9,500$ it would be a better way to sell your Bitcoin near resistance or when it will break out on to the next resistance as it clearly is not going on an up trend reversal soon. Buy selling it near resistance you will have a chance to participate on buying Bitcoin at the next dip.

Well I bet the best thing to do in the current value of bitcoin is to hold. If you sell your coins in a very low price, you won't be able to get a good profit. I think it won't take too long for you to get your desired amount so just be patient and good things will follow. Better wait than gain nothing. A good trader knows the right time to release and hold.
Absolutely, I agree with you. You are a bitcoin user, as far as you know that bitcoin requires a lot of risks, You might pass through many dificulties, thus it’s not worth selling with low  value. You’d better keep holding it. You think that you can get a little profits when you sell low ,but even you are not satisfied with your profits, I guess so. You both know that crypto market is extremely volatile. Therefore the best way is not selling with low value, the best way is patient to hold it.

I think the OP question is not right , buy when high? and sell when low? i don't think so if you have a profit like that.
Well, for me i much prefer to hold rather than to sell earlier if i see that i did not reach my aim profit in holding, holding is last option if the coins you invested was not raising up and if your profit was not there. Buy and sell when the coins are decreasing it's time for you to buy and quick sell if it is high.
As we see now that the marketcap price was all decreasing and i highly recommend to invest more in crypto's.

You should know that when you buy high and sell low, you will be a loss and will never recover. But if you still save and still invest, you still have a chance to get a profit even though you have to wait in time you do not know and uncertain. You have to be patient with the current situation because conditions like this have often happened and naturally. This is the world of crypto, the price is always up and down without compromise. In contrast to land prices, house prices, gold prices, and silver prices. Their prices will only go down in case of an unexpected condition such as the economic crisis. In the world of crypto, there is no special event like economic crisis. Because up and down of the price happen all the time.
