this is the boost include path, it does not find the header file for random numbers. You need put something for BOOST_INCLUDE_PATH in your makefile, such as
BOOST_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/boost_1_53 wherever you installed the boost.

Ahh makes sense.. I installed libboost via apt-get install libboost-all-dev; as per the build instructions in the bitcoin documentation. Haven't a clue what the path would be, haven't had any luck finding it yet but thank you for getting me on the right track. While I'm clearly pretty noobish to compiling things on my own, I avoid anything pre-compiled when it comes to alt-coins, and they only provided windows binarys at any rate. Is this an indication the published sources were not tested in a linux environment? Which would further cause me to suggest caution suspecting this coins dev only works from windows? Either the problem is unique to my situation, or I'm over analysing causes for my problems with it.. Either way, I think I'm done playing with it until the dev can release something which compiles the same as every other alt coin I've used, or provides some clear instructions on what I need to do differently and why.

Thanks for the help dreamhouse

I am mining this coin until eligius gets its stats back up.....For a few more hours or up until I have hit many blocks and found no superblock....

I like quick confirming coins, maybe they can be used for OTC purchases where speed is important....
I wouldn't want to buy a burger with bitcoins and then wait for 1 hour to eat it... 3 minutes is much more reasonable...

For online transactions 1 hour isn't too bad though...

I'll report any super-block finds, I'll probably get one!
(Stats are back up on eligius... I'll stay here for a little while longer, I want to get a superblock!)

I disagree with the 3 day double bonus....Maybe there should be a system where 50% of the first week's mining goes automatically to faucet addresses.... That's how the double bonus would make sense...

Or instead of faucets a giveaway where people would post that they are interested in the coin and why, quick review, then gift of coin....

I'll give 256 Tigercoins to the next person who asks for them in this format in this thread

(If I don't miss the post  Wink )

Syscoin has the best of Bitcoin and Ethereum in one place, it's merge mined with Bitcoin so it is plugged into Bitcoin's ecosystem and takes full advantage of it's POW while rewarding Bitcoin miners with Syscoin

Why am I interested? Well, its something new!
Quick review? Its nifty so far. I have mined 16 blocks so far with 16 BE's and a 8.6GH/s jalapeno.

30 GH/s.... My miner will probably break even... It's a BFL Little Single.... BFL screwed everyone over with the delays in delivering their product.... It was 9-11 months late!
If I had recieved it in time I probably would have paid it off really fast and then I'd buy a new gaming PC as I had planned...
Now I'll have to game on my laptop Sad

I really love bitcoin and all the new things it brings to the table, I wanted to be part of Bitcoins history... I gave 683 Dollars for the miner and shipping in Oct 11, 2012....
If I had bought bitcoin at the same time at a price that was around a tenth of today's price I would have made $5000 in profit... I would have bought a nice gaming PC and maybe it would pay for a couple semesters at my college!

I do understand that this is a hobby for the most part, we are here at the frontier of money! These systems are early and have many imperfections built in (that may or may not become apparent soon) I believe we'll go through a few new coins until we reach something that will actually surpass bitcoin. What we're dealing with now is mostly clones, some have advantages that are apparent some don't. Some bring new things that may or may not help them succeed (POS or Demurrage).

I can be disappointed that BFL did not ship when they promised to, had they done that I'd have more than a dozen thousand dollars, and I would use them for college mostly (and a gaming PC Smiley )
But ultimately in this experiment (even bitcoin's developers agree that this is still an experiment) things can go belly up any moment for any reason, scams are sure to spring up all around the place and in general it is a good idea to be cautious and not to go above what you have to spend for a hobby.

Of course the bitcoin price may never have risen so far unless the cyprus bank panic crisis had happened and spread through europe in the first place. Right now, I'm drinking a bit of sweet wine from Cyprus ( I thought I'd note it) Just like a fifth of a glass.

Don't worry I'll soon take my miner out of here and back to bitcoin (I just want to find one of these super-blocks)

And just think that a few posts ago I said I don't like the superblocks ( I haven't found a single one yet )

Hypocrite alert  Grin

I'm getting a reasonable amount with 8GH/s sat on it Smiley Probably won't if the difficulty goes up much though.
