I have a good sum of TGC so I'll put my miner back to BTC, (my favorite pool is still down ) Whoever wants some TGC I'll give them 128 of it. Just post your normal post that you would here and put in the end (requesting TGC and your address) I'll send to the first 10 people at the very least requesting TGC tUMzLwuGsEj8eniDdCWXcqma952bq3nCvq I missed it there, sending some now!

Thanks for CoinEx listing TGC, it's nice! Also CoinEx and Jude Austin's pools are listed in the OP. We are at block 3578, please make sure you use Version 1.1. We should get to block 4000 in about 5 hours. Hope the transition will be smooth and we should see random superblocks after that.

I'm soloing with about 10GH/s. In the last hour I found 5 blocks but seems to have slowed a bit now. 5 in an hour's acceptable though

Thank you, got my first TigerCoins! BTW is it still worth solomining with about 10GH/s? Or pool is better now? Anyone still finding blocks solo? When I did my mining it was definitely worth it, it's a good idea to pool mine now just because people may jump on this coin and then you'll have extreme variance. You can solo mine until you start getting blocks every hour or so, then you can pool mine... Either will probably get you a similar amount of coins (although pool mining will be much more consistent).

Some people asking about why they don't see superblocks. We checked the code and its behavior, we did see an issue. Let me explain it here: The random calculation code: std::string cseed_str = prevHash.ToString().substr(4,7); const char* cseed = cseed_str.c_str(); long seed = hex2long(cseed); int rand = generateMTRandom(seed, 19200);
what this means is that the program takes the previous block hash, extracts 7 characters from the hash, starting from 4th position in the hash, and use it as the seed to generate a random number, then the random number will determine if a block is superblock. This scheme works fine for all other coins that has random blocks, and works for this one at the beginning (< block 300). But after some time, the generated hashes have a lot zeros in the beginning, for example: 00000000002d016cb29ac26baec5270f2496e8a33295d2c624673687e0d37942 height=340 00000000000cc102320be68cc8939e446d98f77f144a1e2bde452f8132128b80 height=873 00000000002125cd2153c7cdd926ac56baf0c1c418bb7fe88ad4261458e03e89 height=1324 in consequence, the cseed string, instead of being random, becomes some fixed strings like "0000000", "0000001", "0000002", etc, and none of these correspond to a superblock . a) That is a pretty embarrassing coding error, given how increasing difficulty works. b) Doesn't this mean that anyone examining the previous block will know for certain whether the next block will be a superblock or not? If so, then the rational thing for miners would do would be to mine other coins any time the next block will not be a superblock, then mine this coin whenever it will. This will cause huge variations in hashrate, and therefore difficulty. Edit: Oh, look, someone has already created scripts to do exactly that calculation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264740.0
