Some key points I want to point out in a white paper:
If it is a business -> read business type and use your knowledge to predict if it can be a good business + not having many competitors
If it is a coin for mining -> read the algorithm and see if it is right for you mining gears (We also have POS nowadays)
See the team if they are legit. How experienced are the devs and founders.
Crowdsale details <- look into this and see if they have a clear purpose on the idea.

That is all I usually look for. There are more and I'm happy to hear more from others.

Being an ANN Thread designer, I take time reading whitepaper but I only read the most important sections as well if I'm very interested on a project, to be honest I rarely read whitepaper when browsing projects commonly if it doesn't fit on my interest or the ANN Thread doesn't look attractive.

Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.
I Only Read Whitepapers of those Projects, where the bounty program i joined.
i read it from the start until the end.
But im having a real hard time specially on the technical stuffs.
Specially with the vocabulary they use. Some terms is new to me.
However i just keep on reading and then if i fully understand it.
Its help me to the bounty easier.

I think if you really want to get your money back in investment, you should really read the project’s whitepaper. It’s hard to invest on something that you don’t know what it is about. Aside from that, if you don’t know enough information about the coin or the project, you may end up getting scammed, and you could lose the money you initially invested

I think there is no need to read the whitepaper. Sometimes their websites summarizes it all. You just have to understand the plans and objectives of the project. If you had a clear understanding of it then you will be able to discern which ICO is best to invest.

For projects with great ideas, reading the whitepaper is necessary. I didn't read it carefully, i just read main idea in it. That is one of the ways to avoid scam ICOs. Through the whitepaper, you can also see the professionalism of the staff.
However, I never read the whitepaper of the projects whose bounty campaign I join Cheesy Cheesy

That's good, at least you have some information about the team, it's really necessary to do this kind of research prior to investing.
In reality, investing in crypto is too risky but with proper information, you'll be able to minimize the risk your chance of success will increase.

Yes I do. Especially if I'm tempted to go in big on a project or if it has too much hype. Then again, I do bounty hunting and I have to read the whitepaper of anyone I intend writing an article for. I check their roadmaps too sometimes.

Tip: check executive summary in first 3 pages of whitepaper

Whitepaper has shown the validations of the Ico project, whereas you can gain more informations ,on how the project perform and its developement must be promising and interestingly. It is really hard to invest without any knowledge to penetrate on which Ico project is legit. And it is much helpful to check their roadmaps to evade scammers. Being wise is a brilliant thing we can use to gain succees .

I carefully read dadi white paper, white paper for the stand or fall of an ico project is very important, to the public shows their dreams and development route, if not deep reading the paper, for a project is impossible to have a profound understanding.

I dont read whitepapers because there are way smarter people than me. IBM works together with Stellar, Bosch invested and believes in IOTA, Samsung partners with ICX. These are reasons for me to invest/believe in this projects...

Yes, to get more information about the project you need carefully study the white paper. Some scammers can just copy someone else's text and hope that no one will read.

Everyone before participating in a project must learn a lot about project information and including the whitepaper. So the whitepaper is what we will have to read first so that we can understand some of the necessary information about the project

I think its very important for us to read whitepaper before we joined in bounty signature or blog to know more about the project. So after we join the bounty we can explain to another about the project, the team or the purpose until we can get their information clearly with their whitepaper

I always start with the main site of project, read about  the team, read a short version of the white paper, if there is one available. And if i like the project and it seems for me promising and interesting  -  then I read the full version of WP. I read it in detail and read about the coin so that I understand what the coin does and whether it will succeed or not. If the whitepaper of a coin is bad then it is not likely to suceed.  Grin

I do go through the white paper whenever I need to buy or just research about a particular project. Else, I hardly go through white paper because some of them are just too long to read. I go through them when necessary too.
