Just got an e-mail from Kraken. Looks like they are out of Beta and ready to begin trades.

So far the site looks pretty well set up. They take Euro deposits/withdrawals via SEPA and wire transfers.

They also have BTC/LTC exchange.

They have a US and European businesses.

They've announced it here on bitcointalk.

Seems they also take USD deposits and deposits in pretty much any currency as their EURO account can automatically convert incoming wires into EUROs.

This is also huge news for Litecoin btw. A cool exchange like Kraken poised to overtake other established exchanges offers LTC trading. Huge news for Litecoin. I wonder how come this wasn't picked yet by Bitcoinmagazine, Coindesk, Bitcoinchannel and others.

But the name and location is not well chosen. It reminds me on "Datenkraken" ... ok, maybe I'm paranoid, we'll see.

"Krake" and "Kraken" are used synonymously. And NSA seems to be a Datenkrake. Do u c?

Interesting!  I did not know this word.  Fortunately, we have not been overtaken by the NSA yet.  Exchanges do have a lot of information that can help law enforcement map real identities to activity on the blockchain.  You'd be wise not to attempt to launder money through a bitcoin exchange.

whats really weird is that they to EUR/LTC and BTC/LTC trading. ALL other exchanges do it the other way (LTC/EUR, LTC/BTC). people have to recalculate the values on their own to see if the prices are cheap or expensive compared to other exchanges for LTC

i am currently programming to fetch data from kraken on show them on www.cryptocoincharts.info -> with recalculation to widely spread pairs Wink

We switched to LTC/EUR, but are staying with BTC/LTC (since LTC/BTC could potentially get very low in price and we want to avoid having too many decimal places).
