Not all the people has bitcoin meaning they are using this cryptocurrency specially the moment you posted this thread in 2011 when most of the people who bought bitcoin hold this and just this recent years they have spending,and same reason why many bitcoins are floating in the air because those who hold the crypto turns up to forgot their wallet addresses or private keys

All I can say is that there so much people right now is using bitcoin as it is the most popular crypto this time. I think there more than billion, I guess? But in some circumstance bitcoin's value drop from the start of 2018 and I guess that is because people are leaving bitcoin?

It is very hard to count that how many people are using bitcoin and how many people are investing because there are allot of countries that has millions of people who buy and investing in bitcoin. But we cannot count them in number. I think in entire world almost 99 percent of people are using it and making investments.

Every day new and new users are entering the bitcoin community and we will not be able to know who acquire and how much each person holds, eventhough the price of bitcoins is fluctuating the market will start to recover soon with a huge bang which can bring a  breakthrough for all the bitcoin holders.
