I think it's important to understand the biographies of each of their team members, many of which are linked to the best people on the internet. These are fraudulent projects and only do so to increase their tokens

Just read their white paper and have look on their social media pages where as it always updated or not? I think that is enough to say that you are going to be able to find out what is a good ico project with that strategy. Everything needs to be studied and clarified first and you can't just find a good project instantly because you need to learn it in details

Yeah, there are many altcoins that have been created in cryptocurrency. To spot a good coin, maybe you can check their plan on the roadmap.
If it is logical and achievable, You can buy the coins. Another things to consider is you may need to check about their team, whether it is fake or not.
There should be no more than 1 red flag in your due diligence, otherwise it is a scam project i guess.

This makes quite difficult for the investors to look after a good coin to invest as a lot of confusion arises here. But I suggest you, search for the top listed coins as they are the most trusted and reputed ones in the market and are the too reliable option to look for. -you can check total supply, market cap and token price
-if they are reasonable comparing with other projects.
-you can check their team if they are experienced or not.
