It would be convenient if I could list my bitmessage address in my profile. Many uses (such as myself) have signatures disabled and thus don't see it there.
It's very easy to do and I see no downside.

I think that is a good idea. There are options to add MSN, Yahoo, Skype etc, so why not have Bitmessage? It's better than Skype etc :-)

Great idea! If it is implemented then it would free world a lot of space in my signature. +1

Good idea.
Furthermore, the last BitMessage client (0.4.0) implements Namecoin integration. I still have to dig in it better, but maybe this new feature could open doors to further integration with forum users' profiles.

Hate to be that guy but "MSN, Yahoo" fields are included by default. Every SMF forum has those profile field. Skype isn't even an option. The only custom field that theymos added was "Bitcoin address" and "Trust"

AFAICT, BitMessage is seriously flawed in several ways, so I don't expect it to exist in the long-term (in its current form, at least). So I don't want to promote its use.

Perhaps there could be a custom contact field so you can enter "BitMessage: BM-..." or "Tox.im: [keyid]" or "GPG fingerprint: [fingerprint]".

I wish Bitmessage would be as easily installable on all platforms as, let's say, Mozilla Thunderbird, first.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Your words have scared me a bit. So the request for a security audit (on the BitMessage wiki) seems more urgent than what they wrote? Anyone wants to share his thoughts or some relevant link? In meantime, I have just read this: Bitcoin Forum > Other > Off-topic > Bitmessage security breach?

I don't know of any particular security problems, but it seems inelegant, not at all scalable, and just generally not well-thought-out. (Similar to Namecoin.)

I really like this feature but was vetoed. No, theymos added an "Other contact" field you can use to publish your BM address.
