Bitcoin's value is still volatile, while ripple and ethereum values have stabilized within a particular range value. Despite having lower values than bitcoin do you think the two cryptocurrencies are likely to gain more than bitcoin this year? Especially ripple, considering the deals it has inked with some of major financial institutions?

As long as their price is cheaper, have lower market cap overall, it is possible that you get higher returns from alts than from bitcoin. This was the case last year - less returns for holding bitcoin but if you held some alt such as Neo, ripple, ethereum and other you would have earned more. The less the marketcap coin has the higher return can be but the more riskier it gets. Honestly I don't see why I should buy ripple as I don't see the need of ever using it for something useful more than simply to try to take a profit. Ethereum has usability because you have to pay fee in order to use their smartcontracts.

Ethereum has the chance yes, Ripple in my view does not. However, don't think Ethereum is stable though just because it normalized in a range it is more volatile than Bitcoin is at this point. Ethereum has use case whereas when LN gets activated Ripple will be essentially useless and moot.

Ripple seems like the coin that can stay at a stable price because there's so many coins that can be traded.

Bitcoin can reach 10K soon, or even reach 20K or more. Though good earnings can be made with Ethereum and ripple, bitcoin could give much higher returns.

This is still the early stage of the year, in which bitcoin is still facing some price correction from the bum in the last quarters of 2017. ETH has a better chance of survival (as a smartcontract), but ripple, for me, has no much chance, cause its use for me is mainly for profit making if I will keep any. With the review of bitcoin at the end of last year, you will see that bitcoin has no specified patter of movement, therefore, the rise in the value/price of ETH and XRP cannot come in to take the popularity of bitcoin.

Since bitcoin has recently lost significantly in its popularity, it may already not be so dramatically increase in price as in December last year. This should have a very good impact both on its development and on the image of the whole country. As for ethereum, this is really a good, promising and stable coin, which can not be said about a centralized ripple.

There is definetely no sign for anything. BTC like every alt is pretty volatile. Long run it would be better if bitcoin shows more stability, but I dont think it will happen in the near future. So ups and downs. Those who HODL it doesnt matter anyway

Bitcoin will reach it's all time high again. Price are in dip at this moment, but look at it's future the technology behind bitcoin which is blockchain, Big companies will adopt blockchain to make their companies very transparent and efficienct and it will give bitcoin a big impact on it's price.

Well, I don't think that ethereum and ripple might cross bitcoin's value anytime soon. As you know when the bitcoin crashes the rest of the cryptocurrencies crash as well. Currently I think bitcoin is recovering it's value, as it did increase in the past few days after the huge drop. I don't think bitcoin's value would stay somewhere near this, it is decentralized and the number of bitcoins is limited. So when the demand increases it's value would climb up very fast.

Bitcoin will make good profit this year and I think the price right now is more stabilized than before and we will see bitcoin back on $10k before end of february. Thoug eth and xrp are both giant coins that can gives you profit also I still believe that bitcoin will manage to back on its track this year and will remain on top.

If you are looking to make some profit, you have to wait for a longer time,if you think that some other investment will give you a much bigger profit then you can very well go for that,it all depends upon how much profit you are going to get in the end.All the coins are recovering for the past week after the crash and you need to wait for some time for some good profit.

Ripple and Ethereum being more stable than Bitcoin? Tell that the people that bought Ripple at USD 3.77,- or Ethereum at USD 1,377.72,-. Granted, Ethereum faired comparably well, but Ripple's value got pretty much eradicated when Coinbase dispelled rumours of offering XRP trading. Of course either could manage to grow faster in fiat terms than BTC in 2018, but so could any of the other alts. "Deals with major financial institutions" mean little these days, pretty much all of the larger cryptocurrencies have some cooperate backing. At least regarding the respective protocols, not necessarily regarding the respective coins and tokens. Ripple seems like the coin that can stay at a stable price because there's so many coins that can be traded.
Ripple has far less markets and trading pairs than Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and even Dogecoin though.

replace your world "value" for price.. bitcoins underlying value has been on a stable incline and has slowed down due but still on an incline, due to bad devs's who thought fee wars and 2nd layer banking are great.. fee wars and 2nd layer banking have made more bubbles in the speculative price. but not the underlying value the price however is the bubbly bit that expands and pops all the time ontop of a value water line. until you understand the difference between value and price. it will be hard for you to really analyse the numbers in any way

The whole cryptospace has just gone through a major overturn and things are just gradually getting back to normal. Prices are slowly going back up, Bitcoin will continually be volatile and possible increase over the next months. As for ethereum and ripple, they can never overrun Bitcoin.

Will there be a sign? Not a chance. But a legit news can tell you " that". But there is something you must have noticed during these past few months. Every Digital Currency's " value" can't even justify their true values, simply products of non-existent markets. So a simple news about legalization/delegalization of Digital Currencies can make Bitcoin and everything else's prices shift. -snip- Especially ripple, considering the deals it has inked with some of major financial institutions?
Oh no~ not Ripple, just look at the Maximum XRP Supply, then tell me the difference in the number of zeros between 21m and 100b, not even a 1,000b market cap can make it gain higher than Bitcoin.

Altcoins due to their lower market cap have the capability of growing faster than bitcoin however ripple and ethereum are so big already that is going to be very difficult for them to grow at a considerable faster rate than bitcoin, investors understand this so it is likely they will choose other alts to invest or instead invest in bitcoin so I do not think we are going to see such a huge growth compared to bitcoin.

My small notice is that Bitcoin usualy getting pumped first and then when it remains high positions for a long time it becomes clear for other users that some other top coins, that are usually safe as BTC, still have big amount of unreleased opportunities that are getting released pretty fast after devs releasing any good news. At least thats how it happened with ETH first and then with XRP. Right now people are keeping an eye on Bitcoin.

Oh, don't worry about Ethereum and Ripple being too big to move significantly. In both cases the distribution of circulating supply is so unfair, that it doesn't really matter how big these coins are in terms of their market caps. Important note is that market caps don't really say much anyway due to how easy it is to manipulate when it comes to coins with insane total supplies, where Ripple with its 100 billion units is a perfect example. Taking the low availability of Ripple coins on the market due to the poor distribution, Ripple can shoot up to $5-$10 as well if the incentive is there. Ripple valued at $10 per coin would give it a $1 trillion dollar market cap. And if the incentive is there again, it can move up to $20 as well. With the majority of the total supply being in the hands of just a few players, literally everything is possible, that's a fact.
