ETH and Bitcoin Cash can go up, but XMR is also very promising. If we look at https://coinmarketcap.com/, we can see ETH and Bitcoin Hash in 2nd and 4th places. XMR is not so popular now. Ripple and LTH are also quite good for going up.  Wink

Those are classic coins which have a price trend similar to bitcoin, so when Bitcoin goes over $10,000 it will follow it.
XMR is not too much popular maybe but many use it for mining especially from scripts Undecided

of course. because of the altcoins that are good for the lifts. and in 2018, altogether the altcoins will be lifted due to the large number of investors and its supporters. So we have to take care of and distribute altcoins through the likes and share of social media.

I'd look at it differently. Coins on top will grow. Coins that had strong advertising too.  But there are coins which sales ended at the beginning of the year . Now their price is much lower than the ICO, but the projects are very interesting and promising. I'd consider them. For example tky/deb/lym. And of course, the future coin company Egretia.

I think Ethereum and Ripple will do grow tremendously this year (2018). Because they got the most effective platform and team that greatly affect the management of a certain coin. This coins has the potential to dominate the market in future. The catch is how to make sure the these coins could be kept for a longer time without itching to trade them for new coins and simply cash them out.

I am not sure, NEO will be the coin, who will beat Ethereum in the ICO market. Til now, even Stellar, and waves platform was used more by ICO-s, and the new platforms seems to be quite promising as well.

As blockchain keep getting attention I think coins that have their own block chain will still do well. Moreover , newer coins are coming into the market with better concept. But still I route for neo, tron, ncash , ETH  and  bytecoin

ı read it today! Cryptocurrencies have, since their inception and subsequent leap into mainstream awareness, gathered opinions from opposing end of the spectrum. From those hailing the nascent industry as a game changer for the world as we know it, to those equating it to the infamous tulip bubble, everybody has an opinion.

Brian Armstrong, CEO and co-founder of Coinbase, US-based cryptocurrency exchange, thinks people are needlessly worried about the current dip: “It can be scary the first time you see it, but to us who have been in the industry for many years, it feels like old news,” he said in a motivational message to his team.

“When there is hype, people are irrationally exuberant. When there is despair, people are irrationally pessimistic. Neither is true,” he continues, adding that the truth is in the middle, and that value correlates to transactions per day and not price.

"I want to encourage you all to ignore the price of crypto and the headlines which will inevitably start to come up. Our job is to rise above that, finding our own intrinsic source of motivation, to come in and do our best work, regardless of what other people think," Armstrong said in an attempt to motivate his team.

Total cryptocurrency market capitalization:
What's Happening In the Market? An Optimistic And Pessimistic View 102
Source: coinmarketcap.com

Meanwhile, Chris Concannon, the president of Cboe Global Markets, owner of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, could be successful in demotivating crypto investors. He thinks they should be laying awake at night, fretting over the market movements, especially in relation to ICOs (initial coin offerings) and regulations. Should the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) decide ICO tokens are unregistered securities, they would be rendered useless, he told in an interview with Business Insider.

Concannon forecasts that, first, the SEC will go after ICO market participants, then, class-action lawsuits against the teams behind ICO projects will surge.

"If you sold someone an unregistered security you are liable to them if they decide to take them to court," Concannon said.

Who is right - and whether anyone truly is - is anyone’s guess.

Armstrong considers the current slump in the market a good way to clear out weak participants. “It gets rid of the people who are in it for the wrong reasons, and it gives us an opportunity to keep making progress while everyone else gets distracted,” he said.

Meanwhile, Robert Hockett, a professor of financial regulation at Cornell University, told Business Insider that the cryptoverse is moving out of the "Wild West" phase into a "regulatory scrutiny" phase. In the short term we'll see the rise of funds to launch class-actions and increased litigation, but in the long term, we'll see a cleansing of the market, according to Hockett.

"It is a legal life cycle of every new asset that becomes highly popular," he was quoted as saying. "It was true for tulips, junk bonds, and mortgage-backed securities, and now crypto."

I think ETH, LTC, NEO will still dominate Altcoin's growth, but it's likely that a lot of new coin potential will grow this year. If you see the movement of ICO and from the project they run. I hope Enlte, elysian and mtc will be in top 10 altcoin this year.

I am very bullish in platforms, such as Cardano, IOTA, and the fresh ones, Zilliqa, and EOS. Surely, we will need a significant market sentimel change for these to outperform Bitcoin.

As the industry changes day from day. our views as to what coins will grow in long term seem to change.
many thought XRG was it in December, then it was Tron, then people thought less

so anyways
your ideas of 5 good coins you think will grow for 2018?
Privacy and Alt Coins

I am still thinking NEO.
But I like to hear from everyone else. as new ideas help to research other coins.

more feed back the better.

The greatest and most solid coins in the crypto world remain the same somehow, if we refer to the ones that are already on top of the list. The top 5 will always start with Ethereum. This coin remained the number one altcoin. NEO could also be another choice in the top 5. There is also Cardano (ADA) and then Ripple (XRP). You could also consider Waves and Monero (XMR). Ethereum Classic (ETC) and NEM (XEM) are also great choices.

I think that ethereum will grow for the simple reason that it is the blockchain where there are a lot of developer (along with bitcoin) so it is difficult for these developers to start learning a new programming language and developers make the ecosystem.

Huobi token looks cheap, no reason they can't get close or even overtake BNBs marketcap

I think NEO could grow in the future.
It has proper blockchain and could compete with ETH but is more fast and secure.
ICO ,DApps , and smart contracts are the future and NEO supports all very well.

A good indicator of the fact that in the long term the market capitalization of altcoins will only grow is the partnership of large well-known companies with different blockchain projects.

As long as there is enough patience to wait for the market to pick up, I believe that all good cryptocurrencies will have a lot of room for growth. The fluctuations in this market are very large, so don't be affected by it. With patience, you will have great wealth.

I think that now the most potential altcoins are EOS, Ethereum, ADA, OMG and Ripple. NEO I used to think a good coin, but now I think that it should not expect strong growth.
