One is RTF another is DocX... they're both seeming to put some weird spaces on scribd where the page breaks were I assume.  Not sure why that's happening but there they are.

Also, reserving an episode will only be possible for up to two weeks. So, 15 days after your "reservation post", the episode will be free again, but you may post again if you want to extend your reservation.

15 days will be up on Monday for me (or maybe tonight, Sunday), I believe.  I haven't had a lot of extra time this weekend because of upcoming holidays, so I'd like to extend my reservation.... I still see that there are other episodes open for other people to take if they wanted to, anyway... so I suppose it isn't a problem.  After Thanksgiving, I should have a lot more free time & be able to finish.  I'm about 35 minutes in right now.

So I'd like to get an extension until the end of the day UTC on Monday.

New episodes (any episode after e60) may only be reserved by users who have previously successfully transcribed an episode, with Kluge being happy with the proofreading. Also, reservations for those new episodes will only be possible for one week instead of two.
Reservation for those new episodes will no longer be automatic by posting in this thread, but will have to be confirmed by either me, Kluge or mindtomatter.

It seems that you have your transcription workforce already selected; but if you decide you need fresh blood I'd be willing to give it a shot. I'm a regular listener and fast at this kind of work.

i.e. I was about to to ask to reserve episode 61, but did the diligent thing and read the OP in full.

It's simple, go to the list in the second post on the first page and check. If you want to make doubly sure that you aren't doing one that's already been reserved, go to the most recent pages of the thread (since qwk last confirmed everyone's reservations) and make sure nobody has claimed it there. Alternatively, if either of these are available (it's been more than two weeks), my preference would be E10, E57, then 04. I'm sure you can understand why!

I had hoped that would be sufficient for claiming E10, since it was my first preference. I'm a few thousand words into writing it atm. Have you started writing it? If you have, we can discuss it, but if you haven't then I'd recommend going for episode 57, which is unclaimed and shorter than E10!

(edit: also, if for some reason your reservation is counted as legitimate and mine's not, then that's the second transcript in two days that I've spent hours writing for no reason )

Yeah, I just sent a message to tennis telling him this literally happened to me just yesterday, so I know how horrible it is to have to waste what you've typed.

But the first time this happened, I didn't read someone else's reservation, so it was my fault - this time, I was the first to claim it, with due apologies to tennis for his wasted efforts afterwards.

My second post "claiming" it was only made because I'd read OP's post which said that it was definitely free, and I wanted to make sure he knew that was my no.1 preference. I know this makes me sound like a huge dick, but I think I should get to finish this one since it was claimed by tennis after I'd already expressed an interest.

Also, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is my favourite book, so I feel like this episode and I were destined to be together

You an only claim a single episode at a time Kieran.  In no way did you ever clearly claim episode 10.  I'm already 22 minutes in.

This is ridiculous.. you have to go after only one episode.  I just claimed episode 10 right before you and I saw that post and your preferene was Episode 57 first, then 10, but you just switched them around.  On top of that you can only claim one at a time.  And you just ruled in your favor as if it's fact that you have followed rules and are in the right.  I'm sorry that you have written all that but you weren't allowed to reserve 3 reservations and then after i swoop in try and reserve it?  Just so confusing and you are wrong, I am sorry. I have already gone up to minute 22...
